  1. I like to wear brown duck Walls coveralls. I find them for about $50 in Wal Mart or online when they go on sale after the winter ends. I like to keep covered completely to stay warmer, and I can still wear a lot of stuff under them, or even over them, if I need to.
  2. Tell me about the Browning and I can look in my Blue Book for you if you like.
  3. I lost 20 pounds in 6 months when I got divorced 20 years ago. That was the only bright side to it.
  4. Exit 110 on Rt 17 is near Rock Hill and Wurtsboro.

    Hops

I think I'll just go to the store and buy a six pack of Beck's.
  6. I suspect it was an escaped pet. We had a Bengal Tiger roaming the woods of Central NJ once. I was never determined for certain where it came from either.
  7. Offense can not be given, only taken. These days, one can not even mention the fact a person is of a certain race, lest they be chastised for it. But in truth, it had nothing to do with the story and didn't have to be mentioned.
  8. Most big book stores have them, but they cost about $50 new. You can buy a used one that is a year or two old for a lot less and the prices in it are still pretty accurate. You can check some online auction sites like E-bay and Gunbroker.com.
  9. An unfounded accusation is not an opinion, it is a veiled attack. Why don't you take it up with the NRA and post their response to your inquiry on the forum? I believe too many people sound off without knowing all of the facts or issues involved with the NRA's decisions. I fail to see what one hopes to accomplish by trashing the NRA. If someone quits the NRA because they think this one issue is important enough to lose their gun rights over, they're not thinking clearly. The NRA may not see things the way someone wants them to. But no one can know what all was involved in their decision unless they were involved in the decision making, or they ask the NRA for an explanation. Taking information from any other source and reporting it negatively is foolish. Why become a tool used by the anti NRA groups to bash them and cause even more misinformed people to quit?
  10. Meaning what? Crossbows should be illegal? It's easier to kill with a gun too. So guns should be illegal?
  11. It would be better for you to address this issue with them directly, as opposed to criticizing them in an open forum. That is a derogatory action with malice aforethought.
  12. Hey, what else can you start hunting on Sept 1 other than crows and squirrels. I find hunting them tunes up my skills again after a long summer. They do taste good as well.
  13. Gut the bear first. Completely skin the bear next. This is important to cool the meat down as fast as possible. Cut it into quarters and put a quarter onto a tarp. Drag it out one quarter at a time. The work involved with caring for a harvested bear is a lot more than a deer.

    Tips?

Bear tastes great if you know how to take care of the meat from the moment you kill the bear to the moment it hits your plate. Skin it right away and cool that meat off as fast as you can. That's very important.
  15. I use a 5 gal bucket with a swivel top on it. It is quiet and allows me to see or shoot in a 360 degree circle.
  16. I feel it is best to use whatever round is the most accurate in your rifle, as long as it is shooting a bullet designed for deer hunting, as opposed to target shooting.
  17. Bill, building muscle will cause you to gain weight. Muscle is heavier than fat. Once you start burning off more fat than the muscle you are building, you will start to lose weight.
  18. The best source of gun values is The Blue Book Of Gun Values. This book is the bible for collectors as far as gun values go. Condition of a firearm is extremely important in determining it's value. After market modifications that are not easily spotted can also affect the value of a collectible firearm. It takes a little education to become mildly competent in the area of firearms assessment. The Blue Book Of Gun Values is an excellent book to start educating oneself.
  19. If you ain't NRA, You're nothing! You don't hunt with me, or hunt on my land, if you are not an NRA member. And I don't care what anybody thinks about my policy. If you enjoy the freedom you have to own firearms, as diminished as they may be these days, you owe a debt of gratitude to the NRA. If you feel the NRA is wrong, you deserve to find out what it's like to lose your rights and become enslaved by an overbearing government that wants to control your every thought. I'm angered and embarrassed by the fact that fewer than 5% of American gun owners are NRA members. It's obvious to me most American gun owners are not that concerned about losing their rights or are in complete denial when it comes to the reality of anti-gun agendas. Either way, I do not want them around me when I enjoy my shooting or hunting lifestyle.
  20. They wake me at sunup every Saturday at dawn. I'll be getting even this Saturday at dawn!
