  1. They don't even have the chart printed in the Game Laws anymore. I get my lifetime license in the mail and don't have a PC up at the cabin, so I called and asked for my zone for first choice and got one. I asked for my Uncle's place as 2nd choice and got denied. Then I find out there is no chance in his zone for a 2nd choice. The guy on the phone tells me this after he denies me. :-\
  2. Loose fitting felt lined pac boots should keep his tootsies warm. Have him wear good wool socks and long johns and that should do it.
  3. You know, you may have a point there. Those game cops think they know everything! ;D
  4. Wait till they sue Tink's for it's Buck Lure. I think maybe Pete Rickard would win the lawsuit though! ;D
  5. If using a 357 Mag with a 6" barrel on deer, you are stretching it at 50 yards. Better to keep it to 25 yards or less.
  6. I would've asked her to tell me how she was able to get this particular job here.
  7. The bucket will work. But where do you put the bag when you empty it?
  8. Thats why it's important to know who you are voting for as Governor.
  9. I'd like to hunt deer and bear with a Ruger .44 Mag. May try it someday.
  10. Seems to be a lot more bears in 4P this year. Trouble is some of the city week enders are feeding them. They come close to their houses and some of these folks have dogs and small children. Not too bright.
  11. This is where we find a picnic basket, Boo Boo!
  12. Good for him. He's probably hooked for life now! ;D
  13. Should be good in the thick stuff. ML rifles can be fast as quick shooters. Having to shoulder them while pulling the hammer isn't slow, but the lock speed calls for a percussion cap. A flinter has a little hang time sometimes. Did they ever make that rifle in 45 caliber. At close ranges I think that's what I would want. I assume the velocity is a lot slower with the shorter barrel though.
  14. Pedersoli is a very high quality manufacturer. They are also priced accordingly. I once looked at an exposed hammer double rifle in .45-70 they make. They go for about $3000 now. They make very nice muzzle loaders.
  15. I like Leupold. I really like the double twist in model for my magnum rifles.
  16. I only use a front bag. I have a leather one with ears on it that is filled with sand. Got it over 35 years ago. I settle the butt stock into my shoulder with my fist under it as a rest.
  17. Shot from the road too. Probably from a vehicle at night.
  18. I can't compare then. Mine is 30 acres of woods, not ag assessed, with 2 buildings. Still much less than my home in NJ with no land!
  19. I don't go in the city. There are things worse than coons and possums there! ???
  20. Diet and exercise are both important to good physical fitness. And cardio, especially for hunters, is very important. Your weight should be what the doctor's chart says it should be for your height. I'm 5'11" and currently weigh 190. The chart says I should be 170. I'll be happy if I get to 180. Last time I got down to 175 I was skinny and starving all the time, but I could run up and down the mountain without breathing heavy. Trouble is i can't stay at that weight without starving. If I can get down to 180 again and stay there for a year, I'll try to get down to 175 again and see if it's possible without starving. BTW, I'm going to be 55 this year, so this is not easy for me at all.
  21. When's the "Camp Warming"? We'll all come up to celebrate!!
