I was thinking of mini mags or other HV ammo… I'll try them. On the bright side, the pistol is very accurate at about 15yds. I just had to raise the sights a little and it was right in there.

Yeah…Im sure that I'll have to do the same thing. Even if I find ammo it likes, I hate to be restricted to using /finding just one brand or style of ammo in it, especially with the problem in finding .22 ammo. Im sure it's going back to Ruger…. just pisses me off.

I have 2 vipers. The first one I bought around 10+ years ago the second I bought off of a friend who had a bad experience with it the first time he used it. I love them. Big, light and easy to use not to mention very comfortable. I was sitting in one this morning. I didn't see any deer but at least I was comfortable...

I can't believe Remington puts their name on the 770. I'm sure it's accurate and reliable enough to take deer but the action is a gritty, rough piece of crap and the gun is uglier than hell. Any 700 action blows this 770 crap bag out of the water.

My brother redid his garage floor with black and white tiles. It looked great for about a year or so. Then the tiles cracked and lifted in spots. I would go with the epoxy.

I have been eyeing this pistol for a while now and have heard good things about it. A guy I know owns one and raves about it. I finally bought one, and I took it to the range on Friday….Not impressed. I fired about 150 rounds and had AT LEAST a dozen failur to feeds. I was using Winchester hollow points and CCI standard lead round nose bullets. I guess I'll try some different ammo before I send the damn thing back. I love Ruger but WTF???? Story of my life….

In weather colder than 30 degrees or so I go with flip back mittens. You can flip back your trigger hand mitten in 1/2 a second and they are way warmer than gloves.

I like the real ones too. The wife and i get one every year. My grandfather passed away 2 years ago. He was 94. He had the same fake tree that he bought in the 70's. After X-mas he would have me or my brother/ cousins carry it to the attic with the lights and ornaments attached. The next year we would carry it down stairs and he would just plug it in. When we talked about the real trees we bought, and what we paid for them every year, he would always call us "idiots" LOL!!!

LOL! I was cooking out last winter, and had to pee. It was dark so I did what any guy would do, right there in the snow (but away from the grill) Some how the wife noticed the yellow snow and was appalled!! I don't get it.. I guess I was supposed to go inside, take off my snowy boots, walk down the hall to the John, walk back, put my boots back on and go back out…….REALLY? I guess it's me...

I couldn't get out today, but 3 of the guys I hunt with saw 3 different bucks, two were smaller racked deer but one was a nice wide 8 or better, chasing a doe out in a cut field. They also saw some other does. Its still deer season. I'll be there tomorrow . Good luck to all.

The SAFE "ACT" is just that…it's all just a big act, put on to give the appearance that something is being done to reduce gun crime. To see the media reporting on the negative effects of this big "act" is refreshing. -

Good point. One year I left the cushion on my stand and the squirrels tore it up and made a nest out of the stuffing, in the next tree over. They did the same thing with one of my lawn chairs one year. Little bastards…..

20ga. all the way. I think a 410 is a decent little squirrel and rabbit gun but it is way too light for big birds like turkey. Mossberg 500 youth gun is a good choice. They also make a youth model that comes with pieces that can be added to the stock to adjust the length. I think its the 500 "Bantam."

I'd say if it had antlers when you shot it, but they fell off after the shot then it depends on whether or not you were able to find the antlers when you recovered the deer. If so ..buck tag. but if by the time you recover him , the horns are no were to be found…antlerless tag. IMHO.

same here …no deer yet..so it will be the old Knight Disc. Matter of fact I m going to take a few cracks with it today to make sure its still on.

I have shot bucks that acted pretty stupid and I have seen does act pretty damn smart.
