Nice!!

Why are there so many idiots out there faking cougar sightings?? I mean I have actually seen a few around Highland Forest, in Onondaga Co., and I even killed one once on my front porch with my pocket knife (photos got destroyed in a mud slide), but why lie about it.

Good pics... nice to see early action

I replaced my factory recoil spring and guide rod with an after market set up made by "Brass Stacker" $20 shipped. That, combined with shooting CCI mini mags, has made a big difference. Pretty much trouble free now. They cheaper Federal and Winchesters cycle better, but still not 100%.

Mossberg 500, Federal 12ga slug. (Bought the slugs at K-Mart .99 cents a box) LOL!

I have been slipping in some hunting prep stuff, between things that need to be done around the house. May days have been something like,,put ladder stand together then cut grass. Touch up paint on climbers then fix door on shed. Shoot a few rounds with the bow then limb the low hanging branches away from the roof. And so on. Todays project is to get a hold of the guy who hunts the same farm as me. Yesterday I drove by his place (which borders the farm) and saw a home made wooden blind, about 6x6 sitting on a trailer in his driveway. He wasn't home and didn't answer my calls. Im dying to know where he wants to put it.. Its driving me nuts!!

Good sized deer.. I would seal the deal...

Hey ….if the deer want to push it and be ballsy about it………..LOL!!

I have an SR22, and so do several other people I know. They all prefer CCI's…... MINI Mags to be specific. Stingers work even better, if you can find them. Most 22 pistols are picky about their ammo.

Same here.

My mother & grandmothers canned every year…Tomatoes, beans, greens, pears, carrots & a few other things. All of it was grown in my grandmother and great grandmothers gardens. Wish I paid attention.

Bricks are 500 round boxes, those are 100 rounders. But yeah that is pricy. I bought the same Remington ammo for $9.99 about a week ago. The last time a bought a 500 round brick I paid $29.99.

Very easy. It came with a shooting rail that Im not going to install. Looks like it will just be in the way. Looks well made and sturdy. Gonna set it in the next week or so.

Best wishes

This is the first 25-06 I have ever shot. I am impressed. The Hornady loads are 117grain Inter Locks, which I assume are comparable the the Rem. Core Lokt bullets.

The old timer in our camp passed away a couple years ago. He was the first to start hunting the property in the late 70's. The first season without him was weird but as time went on we realized that it was sad but normal. I started hunting with hime when I was 15 and he was the age I am now. Now his grandson is part of our crew, along with his buddy. They are in their 20's and I don't ever see them getting sick of hunting so the tradition will live on. Kind of cool to know. The first night at camp, without the old man, we toasted the old fart so many times that none of us got up before 10 A.M. the next day. LOL!!

I sighted in a new 25-06 with the Hornady whitetail stuff a couple weeks ago. It flew beautiful. Just under an inch at 100yds and it was on sale for $19.99. Gotta love it.

Didn't hear that part.. Just heard that he was in town for the parade…HHHMMMM -
I shoot plane Jane factory ammo. Remington Core Lokts, Winchester power Points and most recently Hornady American White tail. They shoot good out of my rifles, and kill deer deader than Disco ….sooo why not.

The wife of the old timer I use to hunt with, made a similar dish but she used cream of mushroom soup instead of chicken broth…..good ..good … good!!!

Believe it or not the call that has worked the most is me. I have taken several bucks by doing my own doe bleat. "Blaahhh" You have to kind of half close your throat and force it out…. Hard to explain..

Pretty much any recipe is good. Bread them and fry them up in butter, simmer them in tomato sauce, put them in a stew or soup, its all good.

Most "FUN" would have to be pheasant hunting, although I haven't done it in years. It was a blast to watch my knuckle headed dogs work birds out of hedge rows or thick cover, and to see how happy they were when I dropped a bird they flushed and how pissed they would get when I would occasionally miss. If they could talk they would have said "seriously A-hole?" LOL!!
