  1. Pretty sure he was there to take part in a parade, that has been marred by violence in the past. He was caught in the crossfire of two rival gangs. So in true little king Andy fashion he seizes the opportunity of a tragedy to call for Federal gun legislation rather than Federal gang legislation.
  2. Probably one of my 6" .357's. They are all very accurate and you can really feel the power, but its much easier/fun to shoot than the .44 Mag or bigger.
  3. Don't bother with the scissors thing. About a year ago I bought 5 pair, for the same reason you mentioned. Somewhere in my house there must be 10-12 pairs of scissors. Damned if I can find a single pair.
  4. Ruger M77 blued with wood stock, in 7mm-08. Great rig. But I am tempted to break in the new Ruger American in 25-06..
  5. The 20 Ga. is definitely capable, especially with 3" shells, but the the 12Ga just has way more a$$ with the same loads.
  6. Been crazy hot/humid here too. I was outside by 8AM to put a ladder stand together and paint it. Took about an hour. Then I started putzing around the yard. By 10:30 I was soaked in sweat. My truck needs an oil change,,but screw that… No way Im crawling under a hot truck today..The wife was just harping on me because I have the AC set at about 45...LOL!
  7. Thats a good deal. I found one at Dicks last year, well after the season. It was marked down to $64.99 from $129.99. In fact I just got done putting it together and painting it, a few minutes ago.
  8. If I was going to spend a grand on a rifle I go for a high end Remington 700. I have 2.They are top shelf rifles and made in the U.S. ……For now at least.
  9. 12 Ga. gives you way more payload and power. ….Not that the 20 ga isn't capable.. but it can't come close to a 12, even with the hottest 20g turkey loads.
  10. They could be almost anywhere….
  11. Hunt it the same. I like to hunt just inside the woods, along runs leading back and forth to the crop fields. I like to have a lane ore two out to the fields but count mostly on the deer coming through the woods before and after they hit the field. Late afternoon and early morning. It has worked well for me.
  12. Do those things muffle gun shots, like the electronic ear muffs?
  13. I never owned a pump action rifle, but I have had levers and semis that shot pretty well. Still, none could come close to the accuracy of any of my bolt actions.
  14. In my younger days I was definitely Hard core. Back then I hunted everything. Upland in the early season 3 or 4 days a week. A few weeks later water fowl almost every day. Then Deer almost every day. By the end of the hunting season my guns and gear would be filthy and my face and finger tips would be red and cracked. Now its just deer and spring turkey. I still get out way more than most of my friends. Several times a week for both seasons.
  15. I quit 30 years ago but I remember it wasn't easy…So Congrats !!! Sounds like you're home free!!
  16. Don't waste time and money on a food plot..I would concentrate on that upper corner of the property near the field. I bet there are more runs there than anywhere else along that field. Just a hunch.
  17. Im pretty much set, although I reached for a full box of arrows, I had on a shelf in the garage, And found tat it was empty…Don't know why the hell I kept the box..But I need a 1/2 dozen…Thats about it.
  18. LOL!! Is that a Tyrod or a "Drive shaft"??
  19. I don't know why, but I have always likes the looks of the British Enfield.
