Looking into the legality of food plots.

And...Growalot continues the humor!!! -
Best time to hunt...is when you can! So, go....rain or shine. Note: For mid day or late afternoon hunts when it's raining....hunt fields. An old grassy, weedy field is a much quieter, much safer place for deer to bed when it's raining than the woods where dripping provides cover noise for predators.

Guys who plant "food plots" and then shoot the game that come to eat...are just "bait pile shooters". When they whine and say otherwise, they are just trying to cover their asses. Buck up boys...hunt like real men! -

Nah...You are nitpicking: If you plant whatever...to attract whatever...and then shoot that whatever when it shows up....You are baiting and shooting!!! Say different, if you want, but you will be lying! -

Run a short length of nylon rope through a carabiner, hook, or whatever; Double the rope, wrap it around the tree and secure with a timber hitch...with loop and hook available for your pack. -
Ha..Ha....I shall line my hunting hat with tin foil !! Seriously, I think the keen senses of deer, sight/smell/hearing, when used together, are so superior to ours that we just might think some sixth sense is working. We must remember: we are merely hunting; that deer is trying to stay alive....His senses must protect him, or he dies!

Sure you can.....Try Fiocchi Aero Slugs; they are great! If you can find any of the old obsolete ACTIV slugs, they are the best. Smoothbore slugs are cheap....Try a bunch of them. You will find one you like!

My brother and I both limited out on the Schoharie yesterday: ten nice smallmouths...all filleted quickly and easily with the Outdorr Edge Fish 'n Bone folding fillet knife.
-
Got the chance to try out the Outdoor Edge Fish 'n Bone on a limit of Schoharie Creek smallmouth bass(13" - 16") today. It just might be the PERFECT fillet knife for such work. Give it a look....It might be just what you need!
-
Good point, Pygmy. One must only consider the number deer killed with the .35, .300 Savage, .30-30 Win, and .32 Special to prove it.
-
I ended up buying two folding lock-back fillet knives: A Buck with a 6" blade, that is just a little too big and clumsy for me....and, one from Outdoor Edge the Fish 'n Bone, with a 5" blade (has a pocket clip and comes with a belt sheath). I think this Oudoor Edge knive might be just about perfect for my needs.

A bad apple year requires much more scouting. Scout long and far, and you will find a tree or three with apples. They will be deer magnets: morning, noon and night. I have only found one so far this Fall, but it is loaded. Unfortunately, it is right next to a dirt road...in plain sight for all passersby. Fortunately, I know where deer have bedded for years that use that tree and others in the vicinity. I can set up well away from the road to intercept any apple pickers (sans Mexican hats).

Wow...that cornfield is close to your well. I'd be worried, too. What did you learn regarding the relative danger from liquid manure compared to raw manure. Doe the "pre-digesting" of the manure in the shit pits do anything to remove harmful bacteria? The fish kill could have come from oxygen leeching...not bacteria, right? Dang....keep an eye on your water.....Good luck!

Good for you! Blackhawk in .45 Long Colt is a classic combo. Let us know when you down a big one with it.

Ahh...you idiot...Your response does not disappoint: You show your true colors. Your mother should have admonished you..."Stupid people should not lie!" I will have no more conversation with you...for now...but, remember, when Obama wins again....I will be the first to tell you, "I told you so!" Bye, bye....moron! -

Dodged the question, didn't you ants?? You are so narrow-minded, shallow and ignorant....To think that you vote is, indeed, scary! -
Never inherited any guns: My grandfather's guns were stolen right after he died. My father left his to a floozy diner waitress. From her, I BOUGHT the double barrel 12 ga. that I cut my small game teeth on. I hunt with it regularly.

I like that approach: Let your wife get stung, and you have a drink! Bees are kinda like women...We need 'em, but they sure can be a pain!

OK...Show of hands: Who here has had any of their guns or gun rights taken away by the Obama administration since his winning the presidential election? My guess is NONE, but I await your tales of woe. -
I cannot understand why Ruger ever produced their compact rifles....Short barrel, short stock...who needs them? I think they were grasping for a piece of the niche market.
