  1. We keep a gate locked at the road... Could be a pain having to lock and unlock it but would keep cars out.
  2. Lmao... Last weeks faculty meetings at work we were told to tell our students that guns and hunting is wrong and this week we are suppose to tell the students that Obama Care is great! Smh!!! Some of these postings are flat out hysterical!!! I
  3. Any ideas for something I can plant to act as screen for road frontage?
  4. My goal is to have 1000 ounces by the time I retire in 20 years. That way if silver goes up a buck, I make a $1000. Not too tough to do... I try to buy one ounce a week.
  5. I have too agree!!! My 403b increased roughly 25 percent this year. I have also started to invest in silver. Silver is down about 30 percent from where it was last year so it's definetely affordable! IMO it's a great investment if you have the time to start collecting now.
  6. I use the agway in cobleskill. I believe they charge around $45 for 46-0-0 and 0-20-20 is considerably cheaper, around $20 bucks since there's no nitrogen in the bag.
  7. Woww!!! Good luck finding the match!!
  8. Wooly I'm starting to think that you're actually human!!! lol I would think that it has to be incredible tough to find sheds with all that snow?? Someone once told me that the best time to look is after rain because the sheds stand out??? Anyway, keep at it!!!
  9. I have an old overgrown apple orchard that I try to clean up a little bit every year. Last year I cleared around two apple trees and I hope to clear around at least three more this year. Deer loved feeding in the newly cut grass as well!
  10. I could be wrong, but it looks like we would save money with the new licensing. I keep coming up with $72 for all hunting privileges, not including trapping.
  11. Keep at it wooly... I'm sure that once you break the seal, the sheds will begin pouring in!!
  12. Skull looks great!!! It's not over the top either... Incredible buck!
  13. If you still have room, I'm definitely interested!!!
  14. Have to wonder if a week break between bow and gun seasons would be beneficial to us hunters???
  15. That's the one aspect I definitely miss about living 200 miles from my land. I have no idea what food sources they are hitting right now?!? I should of left a few cams up but I will have to wait till March.
  16. Just heard from another site that riverhead opted out of the deer culling.
  17. Sounds great Grow... enjoy the holiday!!
  18. Hey guys... I'm curious if state land is as bad as some say? I've been hunting for a little over five years but mostly upstate. My first two years I belonged to a hunt club on the island and took a small buck and a couple of does but it's tough to justify spending the money on the club and all the money traveling upstate. I want to get back into hunting the island next year so... 1) is the ridge check station process that bad? And 2) how would you rate hunting public land versus private land? Thanks guys!!
  19. I usually renew my membership in Jan/Feb for $35 and I receive a $25 Bass Pro Shop gift card for doing so. The local rep for the NWTF always tells me that I'm not guaranteed to get corn, but I have received two bags each year for the last two years. If I remember correctly I give him $5 per bag for the shipping of the corn. Pretty good deal considering my neighbor said he paid a little over $200 for one bag this past year.
  20. Hey grow, why don't you get your corn from nwtf?
