  1. Definitely don't need an FFL... I bought mine online from Cabelas last year and had it shipped to my house.

  3. Mark Wahlberg, Robert DeNiro, and Denzel Washington in no particular order.
  4. wow... you are having some year!!! Very cool!
  5. Nybuckhunter... the bargain cave at cabelas has a lot the wooltimate pieces on sale right now. I just purchased a 2nd vest and jacket. I believe both items were roughly 50% off.
  6. Looks incredible... I would never be able to tell if you or a professional taxidermist did the work!!!
  7. Hey guys... anybody know if the forestry managers are off during the month of January??? I have been trying to call to set up an official appointment and have not yet had a phone call returned? I have probably left three different messages since the end of December. Thanks
  8. Hey grow... I planted power plant a few years ago and it had great draw all summer long and then never touched during hunting season. Did the deer use the sunn hemp throughout the season for you?
  9. THanks First Light... I'm really interested to here the suggestions they provide.
  10. thanks for the input guys... I'm going to try and meet with them at the end of march. we have been trying to make improvements to our land every year and are starting to see some results. Hopefully we can take some of their suggestions and implement them this year.
  11. thanks tjdusaf... I was hoping he could provide some insight on where to do some hinge cuttings and suggestions about getting more light into the woods.
  12. I am planning on having the local forestry manager for my region come to my land around the end of March. Has anybody done this for your property? Did you find it to be beneficial? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!
  13. Hey Sbufan... where abouts in 4f... I have property in Richmondville. Some nice deer there. Congrats!
  14. No... I think some would use this as a way to just hunt with a rifle during archery season.
  15. congrats wooly on a beautiful deer... sorry to hear about your friend!
  16. My bad... not sure why I said moultrie. Either way though, the "Covert" took great pictures and lasted all winter.
  17. Awesome shed wooly!!!! Looking foward to seeing more of your finds!
  18. [attachment=29008:IMAG3600.JPG][attachment=29006:IMAG0131.JPG][attachment=29007:IMAG0468.JPG] I am really impressed with both the Moultrie Camera and Whitetail Institute's winter greens. The camera was put up last summer and is still going. The pictures are pretty clear and has decent range. I was really happy to see the number of deer feeding in the plot. It definitely seem that they prefer the brassica over the corn??? Looking forward to more food plot work this year!!!
  19. I am by no means an expert but I have used both a walk behind tiller which is gruelling work and a quad with kolpins dirtwork series attachments. For a plot that an acre in size or greater I would highly recommend finding a local farmer to till the plot. In regards to the seeds, I have had lots of success with whitetail institute. There website has detailed instruction on the when and how. Don't worry about the water. Try to plant right before rain and you should be good. I also recommend getting a soil test done so you how much lime and fertilizer to purchase. Good luck... it's hard work but is very rewarding!!
  20. Has anyone here in NY tried doing controlled burns for deer management? Is it allowed?
  21. Can't help with the broadhead question, however, which outfitter are you going with?
  22. I have found that the weekend food plotter is better off spending a little more money on the seed especially since we cant plant at the ideal times (right before rain). I have used cheaper seed in the past and have gone back up a week or two later and been totally disappointed. However, I have never had a food plot not grow when I've used Whitetail Institute. I planted their clover, brassica, turnips, oats, and power plant all with great results in less than perfect soil conditions. Just my opinion.
