Foggy morning bucks and others...

Amazing pics again! What kind of spider is that? -
Just a quick update. The two plots we had logged when we were clearing for the cabin build are now limed, fertilized and seeded. Unfortunately due to the lack of time, we had to do them quickly. I would have ideally let the lime sit for 3-6 months, but I am sure next year will produce a nice crop for sure since we did the prep work this year. After having the soil tested it resulted in 4-5 tons of lime pre acre, sounds like a lot, but since it was wooded forever, I guess that can be expected. Anyways, the seed was tossed down on Friday. On field "two", we tried the whitetail institute pure attraction, its a mix of Oats, Brassicas and Winter Peas.... On field "one" we did a mix of Clover, Chickory, and Ryes. While I understand the liming is prob the most important part, and the field may not take to well this year because of the late liming, it was well worth it to try to seed. Seed is relatively inexpensive, especially with just two acres. Anyways, we just got some rain up there over today, and should have some more later in the week. It would be great to see some things start to kick up over the next few weeks. On the trail we made on way up to the fields we are planning on hand seeding, with out lime or fertilizer, some random grasses just to help prevent erosion and also for some additional browsing material. I ordered one of those hand seeders with the bags. Will prob seed that the weekend of August 14th... Even if just a few things take it will be better then nothing, there is not much light that will make it onto the trails anyways. I'll try to post some pics in a few weeks to see if we get any growth, something is bound to grow! Wish us luck.... [smg id=191] Some Lime: [smg id=202]

I guess I am to be thankful for not having any farms near me where this would be an issue.

Deer population - Is it growing or is it over hunted?

I wonder if this harsh winter will have any effects? -
Wow, amazing. You have one great property for all those turkeys and deer! Must make for some amazing hunting opportunities.

Eddie cool pics! Buck - Nice video, looks like a jungle in there...

Mid day hunting is fun, because the rest are moving around. At a minimum I like to do it on opening weekend of rifle.

Depends when you go... Week day night its not to bad. I went on a tuesday, and it was pretty empty. We had our own room. But during the next two months is summer hours and no night time range time.

Do we have any car guys in here? If so what do you have?
burmjohn replied to Geno C's topic in General Chit Chat
The only video I found was the one I took of my buddy, this is with a semi-blown turbo (bearings were shot + leaking). Stock block, but has heads, intake, fuel system, and a freddy AOD. -
Maybe huntingny.com should officially open its "CrossBow" forum... Or should there be two, one called "CrossGun" and one "CrossBow"?

People actually buy that $100 quiver, nuts! I have no idea what kind mine is, it came with the bow. Comes off when I get to the stand.

Wow you got some great pictures!

I was referring to the deer you found that don't make the cut, and have found dead.

That happened to us last year, but it had just bumps on the head. You had to feel for them.

What to plant on a large trail?
burmjohn replied to burmjohn's topic in Land Management, Food Plots and QDM
Just ordered a hand spreader for the trail. I think I'm going with birds, rye and clover. -
Its super hard to tell according to the show I am watching now. They said if its a heavy deer then the toes spread more, indicating a buck. Only way I know is when the deer is laying there dead in front of those track
