it still needs to be fine tuned and written into the hunting regulations and ECL......my guess is not till 2014/2015 season, so maybe this fall.

other than it being in the budget, I haven't seen it put in writing with final details , so I would think the current license year regulations are still in effect.

has the DEC regulations been finalized making the crossbow legal the remainder of this license year? I don't think so.............probably won't be written into the reg.'s until the next licensing year, so probably nobody.

I shot a piebald a few years back and it deformed feet and lower legs..........I've heard they are genetically inferior and often have some type of deformity.

if you find someone willing to do the transfer for any additional fee, and you're ok with paying it, I'd keep that info to myself.......from what I hear there are quite a few who are adding "administrative fees" to the transaction, only a matter of time before they start cracking down on this.

I never mentioned high fenced hunting at all, I mentioned livestock...which as far as I'm concerned is anything being raised to be killed............and I'm gonna have to go back and check, because I don't remember ever "always" bringing up high fenced hunting.

If it ever comes down to killing livestock and calling it hunting, I'll opt to shoot either beef cattle or a hog.......more meat and better eating.

I'd rather see a youngster hunt with a crossbow than not get into hunting at all.......

There's no doubt a politician gets the sympathy vote, and actively seeks it out, when he stands next to the family who lost someone to gun violence..........given the chance to choose between getting that out into the media or standing with a guy holding a gun, the choice is painfully obvious. Make no mistake, the politicians and media will pick and chose who they're gonna have themselves seen with and or interview..........I hate to say it, but sometimes the best publicity is no publicity, especially at the rallies set up by the pro gun people if it's only going to get good publicity for the other side.

If people want wolves reintroduced, I guess the coyote problem can't be that bad and all the reports of how much of an impact they have on deer population is BS.......if you want more predators to help reduce the deer herd why not petition to have coyotes put on the protected species list?

I've been bow hunting for years, never got one..........on the other hand, I do a lot of deer hunting and have gotten quite a few and not all with the same type of weapon.

100% correct, I have the same reaction when I see what some people put on facebook........pictures and videos of themselves, families and friends acting stupid for the whole world to see, I don't get too worked up over anything, I just shake my head and wonder what they are thinking.

all over it? hardly............I just don't think any animal we are allowed to hunt should be displayed like trash, whether that be coyotes, deer, geese, turkey, etc.......
