Who carries every day? What do you carry?
jjb4900 replied to ApexerER's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
that's exactly what I'm saying.....I'd rather have a small comfortable carry gun than one that is too big to carry that I can't get out quick enough if the need should arise....I'd much rather be able to pull a gun out of my front pocket than have to reach under my coat and and try to get it out of a holster. -

it's all about ease of access, a gun you have to fumble for may do you more harm than good. -
How many of you "Register" your ATV?
jjb4900 replied to burmjohn's topic in ATV's , UTV's, Dirtbikes & Snowmobiles
yeah, I would think the shoulder of a roadway is considered part of the public highway / roadway........the shoulders are maintained by the county, state and or town. -

I have the LCP as well and it is a nice compact carry gun, but I think if you have to start adding stuff to it to make it bigger and more comfortable you should really look into a compact that is slightly bigger and more comfortable to shoot from the start...... -
you're 100% right, this guy asked for us to name the animal and he got a bunch of childish answers..........I would name that animal Roscoe.

THANK YOU PRESIDENT OBAMA

I guess if you're the recipient of the healthcare that's getting subsidized by successful people it isn't a bad thing, if you're one of the others, who are doing the subsidizing it may not seem as good....much like if you still live with your parents and all you need to worry about is what you're going to do Saturday night and nothing else matters. -

don't laugh too hard, because you know there are some who will vote for Cuomo based on that. -
these days, It really is a good idea to know exactly what your permit allows you.......also not a bad idea to familiarize yourself with the penal law on weapons possession, and the Safe Act........one small screw up that could result in having your pistol permit revoked, could also result in more extreme consequences.

that shouldn't matter, if someone doesn't care about gun ownership they don't care about that either.........if you do, you should be well aware that it's coming and that delay should mean nothing to you. -

I guess we're really going to find out how strong the pro-gun crowd is if this guy openly campaigns that he intends to repeal the Safe Act..........in my opinion, that's the only topic that will draw votes away from Cuomo. -
not to be a killjoy, but a simple "for hunting" is all you need to say....some people already have a negative view of hunters, saying something like that doesn't really help our cause.

SAFE act lobbyist breaks SAFE act law

This is a guy who broke a law that's been on the books for a long time, it's not like he missed reading some fine print in the Safe Act Law........ -

jjb4900 replied to Terry's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
pretty sure it's always been illegal to carry a weapon on school grounds (except for the few exemptions).....the only thing the Safe Act did was change the classification from a misdemeanor to a felony. -
I'm pretty sure you're required to carry under the laws / restrictions placed on you by your issuing agency and can carry as such anywhere in NY except in NYC.......I think all handguns must be carried concealed in NY unless you're engaged in an activity that requires it to be exposed, such as hunting, target shooting or uniformed security work.......at least in Suffolk that's how it is and in Suffolk, it's darn near impossible to get a full unrestricted carry permit.....you're safest bet would be to call ahead to anyplace you plan on travelling to and asking.

This is what I did and strongly suggest it, as it may save you money buying another gun down the road.......I bought my daughter an adult sized 870 20 gauge, and bought a youth stock to put on it............after she outgrew the youth stock, I put the adult stock back on, problem solved and money saved.

pretty much what we're looking at is a few second clip provided by the guys family..........there's gotta be quite a bit more video that we're not seeing, and there must have been something to convince the Grand Jury to hand down an indictment....if it was a legit burglary and shooting, I doubt we would see this happening.
-
sounds like he may have killed someone in the background, not the guy with the gun, not that it should really matter, and no shell casings found, did they ever consider a revolver was used?............isn't it a Grand Jury that decides whether or not to indict someone?
-
I'd gladly vote yes for crossbows if they do away with the mandatory AR's that were shoved down my throat 2 years ago......

not a problem at all, legally registered, traced back through history to see where they came from and the whole 9 yards.....so not a concern at all, actually if you check gun auction sites there's a lot of old guns with such stamps out there, this just seems to be a little on the rarer side and I've yet to get a good answer on it's value.....if you're wondering what traced means, I obtained that handgun and a few other undocumented relics from a deceased relatives estate, I turned them in to my local Police Dept, and they ran a trace through the ATF to determine if they were "clean", once they came back ok, I was able to register them and take legal possession, all legit.
-
but seriously, what is the exact issue she has with guns? once you know that you can work on coming to an agreement on how to avoid what she's worried about.........second amendment probably won't work, I tried using my freedom of speech to say what I feel a few times at home and it didn't go well.

CT gun confiscation
jjb4900 replied to boo711's topic in Gun and Hunting Laws and Politics Discussions
there are so may undocumented guns out there, meaning no one knows who owns what anymore, that it would make their heads spin if they ever tried tracing them all.........it's gonna be a very expensive, man power exhaustive endeavor should they ever decide to take it on. -
tell her if you can't get a gun, you'll be more than happy to get a girlfriend instead.......

yup, if your wife is pissed off at you and the marriage is going south, all bets are off..............or at least have everyone on the same page if things are good. -
well, that explains it all..........
