Not everyone is up on the latest gun laws, but a recent one by Cuomo now forces the sale of long guns to go through an FFl for transfer. This wasn't the law before the safe act. I will mention this on the LI firearms website. Most of those guns are desirable, so there will be some interest.

I noticed the rape whistle around his neck with the Gay Pride lanyard. I imagine he would blow that whistle if a young lady makes a pass at him.

You were able to sum up 3,000+ posts into a few good pics and posts. Have your dogs ever encountered a porcupine? It's one of the things I worry about when I'm in the PA woods. My dog wants to hunt anything that moves and PA has skunks and porkies.

I don't put down other hunters for their choice of hunting weapon. I do say this,"Bowhunting made me a much better deer hunter."

I like to bowhunt. I like to rifle hunt. I don't spend $ on scent killers and other garbage. I don't care about record mounts. I don't watch hunting shows on TV. Not sure what Stubby has against bowhunters. Such a strange comment that bowhunters would stop bowhunting if they couldn't mount their buck. I like archery, I always have.

Belo- I couldn't agree more about the cryptic post. The guy took a lot of heat for it too. Now, since OB has disappeared from the forum, Chasinwhitetails is taking the heat. Too many posts and confusing characters to get it all straight, but funny when you realize it's all over the size of a buck's antlers. It's not murder or rape. It's victimless, maybe a mild case of fraud. Sure is good for the website traffic though.

A confusing deer hunting soap opera/reality show developed out of that whole thread. I followed the thread on AT a year ago and went back yesterday to see it all blowing up on Ohiobooners. It's a lot of reading and the cast of characters gets confusing. Ohiobooners(Chad), Chasinwhitetail (Chad),Dean, 195 B&C, whack em stack em, all had some piece of the puzzle. I think there is likely one hunter posting under multiple identities. No doubt they are all serious hunters, but when Dean cryptically outed OB, everyone defended OB and trashed Dean. The Antler Fever was real strong in this group. One thing I see is how religious some of these guys are. Here's my frequent phrase, "the loudest ones in church are the biggest sinners". When the fame and fortune grows too high, you wind up with cheaters. The best thing we can do as hunters is to not put these big name hunters on a pedestal. That's what makes them "celebrity hunters".

That has been my experience with several gun owners. I was skeet shooting a month ago and I was discussing the safe act impact on ammo availabilty. I said to 2 shooters that more people would likely be reloading since it is no longer possible to mail order ammo into NY. One guy said, "That only applies to pistol ammo,right?" So I spent another 5 minutes educating these guys about the impact of Cuomo's Tyranny. One guy came on a local gun forum last week, and stated he had just purchased a 9mm pistol and couldn't find any ammo for it. He tried the internet, but all the companies he contacted wouldn't ship to NY!!! Really! Like jjb4900 expressed, too many casual shooters that are uninformed. I've repeatedly stated that "Our Governor has made victims out of law abiding gun owners." We will continue to pay more for ammo and 10rd mags, than the rest of the country.

Sawyer's is good and it is ready to go off the shelf. I learned of a recipe from a PA hunting forum that uses Permitherin(active ingredient) diluted in water. I don't have the recipe handy but it's just a bit cheaper than buying the Sawyers. Tractor Supply carries Sawyers and also the Permitherin, which is used on horses. In archery season I hang my clothes in the shed and spray, spray, spray a few days before the season opener. I also do my socks and boots. So far, so good.

I took my course when I was 16, that was 34 years ago. I remember my Mom picking me up at the Sportsman's club. When I got in the car, she asked if I had been smoking. Not me, but the room was filled with smokers, puffing away. No guns at the course. I have zero recollection of taking my Bowhunting Safety course. I have the certificate somewhere, but I don't remember the class or location at all.
