  1. "ill bet 95 cant even tell you what fracking is. and thats why its tough for me to believe what comes out of there camp" I would agree with that statement. But I have what might be a stupid nagging question that bothers me. Is fracking safe, or not? Or it varies? Thats it, and the bottom line right?
  2. Off topic, but sweat, well they say it kills. lol. It will get you extremely cold, thats for sure. I used to hike in to some remote spots, and would change completely after sitting for a little bit. I would put all my drenched clothes in a platic bag. Platic bags smell pretty bad too though. I figure if I can smell plastic, surely a deer can. I am sure changing clothes completely would be some sight in the snow, with not much to stand on. Hope there were no trail cams.
  3. My place is in Chenango county. Not an island, unless you consider North America an island.
  4. I see a lot of no fracking signs around my place. I am all for cheap fuel. But I can honestly say I can not seem to get to the bottom line on this. The thread has been interesting, but I still am lost as far as fracking. I am fracking lost.
  5. Wow. G-Man, that there is a lot of stands. I dont like messing with the 4 I have. Do you have help?
  6. That is just BS. From all the cops I know, they are all pro 2nd amendment. That is the way things are done in Suffolk. If there is an allegation, the pistol permit is pulled, and an investigation is performed. That is just the way it is. Is it right? No. Is it going to change in this political climate? You tell me. Mr. Mayer got his pistol permit suspended based on an allegation. It is a sad state of affairs.
  7. Very good info from all. Thank you. You guys think that putting something on the cut you made while pruning helps? I have used that black tar like spray before, and regular white glue like Elmers. Was told by a lady I work with that is what she uses.
  8. Well, why dont you guys sponsor the site? I am sure they would be happy with Environmetal as a sponsor.
  9. You and FOWLFAN work for Environmetal. True, right?
  10. Thanks a lot guys! I appreciate it. So I could probably get away with a light pruning. Thats cool with me, as a couple of the trees grew like crazy, and some of the branches are those long whips that fold over under their own weight. As far as the brassica, I guess maybe I will plant winter wheat and rye mix in the fall? Its gonna be clover until then because I through it down with the brassica...
  11. Hey guys. So I have two questions. The first is about brassica. I have planted it two years in a row in a small field, in august, along with some clover. I have sprayed each time with roundup before I planted. Now, I have read some conflicting info on planting brassica multiple times in the same area, as far as disease goes. I have read if you only plant in the fall, and grow other things in between (clover) it is ok to keep planting. On the other hand, some say not to do it. Does anyone have any insight on this? The other question is about apple trees, 2-4 year olds. They need to be pruned, but cant get to it until around the 12th. Would that be ok? Thanks for any input!
  12. Nice pistol, congrats. Might as well go for small as buying a a larger one kind of defeats the purpose. With magazine restrictions and all. (unless you are exempt) Good luck, let us know how it shoots!
  13. Yup, pure bs. If you look at what the government buys, its 223, 40, 357 sig. Why is there a shortage on everything else? Hmm, because we are hoarding ammo. Plain and simple.
  14. Be careful guys. I would hate to see a sportsman get hooked up for something he thought would "fly." If you do not care that is one thing. If you want to make a statement, or an act of civil disobedience, that is another. But the law is what it is. An LEO will have no discretion on a possible misdemeanor or felony. Thats the way it is. All the talk that lowers are ok, other parts, or whatever...We will see. Just be careful.
  15. Sorry, no info. I have a buddy that used to use one for mortorcycles, but they plug in I think. I do have heated gloves though...They are nice. Always have cold hands!
  16. Yeah, I was watching that, and thought he was giving a good run against Piers, (he could have been a little calmer) and then blamo! My stomach turned, and the antis thought "home run."
  17. Better than nothing. But I would never carry them. Or I could shoot up that ammo for ya
  18. Yeah, the guy that thinks we blew up ourselves during 9/11. No thanks.
  19. http://www.grindtv.com/outdoor/excursions/post/enormous-new-zealand-brown-trout-possibly-a-world-record/ I have seen some huge trout in Connetquot a few years ago. So big they looked like the size of keeper striped bass. I wonder if any would have come close to this guy.
  20. F- the fish....Any Senoritas? Chicas caliente?
  21. Happens all the time, and you were actually lucky. Speaking of the allegations, not your court case. I have seen it. Say during a split up, or divorce. And if say, a spouse "knows how things work," and is a vindictive type of person, to hurt you they could make a claim that you threatened them. (could be anyone really, not hust a spouse) Order of protection issued, guns taken away. I would say that in most cases, guns are returned, eventually. It is a big problem in law enforcement as well. Spouse makes a claim to get even with significant other. In this case, they are looking at getting guns seized, desk duty, IA investigation, termination. Now someone has to sort this stuff out, and the powers that be, always er on the side of caution.
  22. Good luck with the new pistol. Hope she is in for a lot of safe practice sessions.
  23. The year before last, I was literally tripping over apples. (Not from the ones I planted and are fenced) Had them flowing down my runoff ditch and everything. We will see this year, hopefully no late frost.
  24. Ugh, they did that partially to my trees last year when they somehow knocked over my fencing. ate the bottoms thats for sure.
