  1. AVG. ANNUAL SALARY WITHIN 5 YRS: $38,900 Good lord this economy sucks.
  2. Ask the Ranger Q: I’ve heard that target shooting is allowed on state land in the Adirondacks. Is this true? If so, what rules must be followed? A: Shooting targets on state land is permitted if: you do so in a safe manner; you do not damage trees; and you pick up used targets, spent casings, etc. Possessing and shooting at breakable targets—including, but not limited to, clay pigeons and glass containers—is prohibited on state lands. Unless legally engaged in the act of hunting, no person shall discharge firearms on state lands posted or designated as closed to target shooting. http://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/administration_pdf/1014onpatrol.pdf To reiterate some state land is posted to not allow target shooting.
  3. You quoted me but I don't think you read my post. I said I do not care what rifle anyone owns, or even hunts with.
  4. I agree, maybe some should relax a little. We are all entitled to an OPINION. You can hunt with whatever rifle you want to, I don't care. Nor do I care what kind of rifle you own. If I see a deer hunter in the woods with an "assault rifle'" (using the generic pc term I know, but you know what I mean), I would look at them like a Rambo wannabe. That is my OPINION. That might not be. That is true. Use any rifle you want to hunt deer as long as it is legal/ethical. But others are allowed to have an opinion.
  5. Many hats, lol. Stock clerk for a Supermarket, worked for a wholesale florist, installed oil burners, forklift operator for a beverage company, worked for a private investigator (surveillance), inspector for an armored car company, stock broker, clammer, government contractor, and finally a federal law enforcement officer. Crazy as I look at it!
  6. You really don't know what a dove is? If you are joking, I am missing it.
  7. I have to say, they look really good. How did you make them?
  8. I understand what you are saying. I belong to the NRA, and a couple of others. These people passed this law in the dark of night, they are not going to change their minds. Should we try on principal? Yes. There is about a 0% chance of repeal though. So far the courts got rid of the seven round nonsense. At least that is something.
  9. Not a chance of getting repealed. But Ill sign it. I believe the only shot is the courts.
  10. Bill, H&R makes single shots. I have their muzzleloader, and slug gun, both are great. I do not know about their centerfires though.
  11. When retired? I plan on either buying a little condo, or renting one in Key West for about three months. I like my place in NY, Just not enough to stay during these three months of hell!
  12. I don't think its flawed at all. Everyone has their own opinion. As far as LEO's representing the state? Well a state is made up of people. LEO"s are an arm of that. I agree with harsher penalties, this state is a dismal failure in that.
  13. Well, I am a proponent of the death penalty for egregious murders against anybody. I would prefer if there is a more of a penalty, or more righty stated, more focus on perps that kill LEO's. Why? Because when someone murders an LEO, they are aimed at killing society in general. The Police represent the enforcement side of what? Of the people. All people. (there are bad in every walk of life, so not referring to them.)
  14. I already explained it so I don't know what to tell you. Yes, the UNsafe Act sucks. Is the Unsafe Act unconstitutional? I believe so. LEO's must still do their job regardless of Unsafe.
  15. Cops are always "on duty." So you can relax. There is no "breaking of rules." Active LEO's are exempt for multiple reasons. One such example would be taking home their "Assault Rifle," like many must. Most are encouraged to practice as well.
  16. Interesting Article. http://www.dispatch.com/content/stories/sports/2015/02/01/hunters-say-that-now-theres-not-enough-deer-in-ohio.html
  17. Interesting. So committing a felony is the the same as a traffic infraction? Not that the guy committed a felony, just saying. But that is what you are inferring here. So if you speed on the highway, you can not have an opinion about someone violating game laws? Speeding at 56 mph is only a traffic infraction. Not criminal at all.
  18. Hmm, Interesting question. I guess I would keep at it. I like having Venison. Would make for a very short first season where I hunt. I could park myself on the small food plot and be done in the morning. After that? I guess does would get very scarce. If most hunters kept hunting, It would be doe annihilation that first year and the next. I wonder if they would eventually get to be like bucks now? Meaning extremely wary. After a few years it would be funny to see all the huge racked bucks walking around. A few years after that, there might not be many deer around at all.
  19. Nicotine patch? Had the same dream. Your ex wife was there. Lol.
  20. .410 seems to do the trick, lot more people around nowadays. Shooting at a very high angle, I seriously doubt anything would ever happen. Why risk it though, shotgun will take them quite well.
  21. In your particular situation, I do not know the answer. What I do know, is Winter Rye will grow just about anywhere, will stay green, and can be browsed heavily. Deer love it.It will also improve soil. It is definitely a winter food plot.
  22. I would go for that. Give me an excuse to buy another rifle as well.
