Thats a shame. I've seen moose for a few years in farnstock. right off of 301 near the Buddhist temple. oh well maybe it will be reincarnated as a 12 point buck!

....Obamacare will fix that

stealing deer is not that uncommon down here, not sure about the rest of the state. a tip you might want to use, is one my uncle taught me. make a duplicate copy of your tag with a note saying this deer was stolen from..... Ater you tag the deer, place the duplicate copy in the bucks month (way back). when the taxidermist goes to mount the deer, he will find the duplicate copy. By doing this there is a chance you'll get you deer back. Good luck tomorrow...guys / gals!

how is going from $200 per pay check to $600 per pay check and from a $500 yearly deductible to $7,500 a year deductible a step in the right direction... I went from $5,300 out of pocket cost to $21,900 out of pocket cost. Yes I know you'll say I need to pay my fair share. But I thought I did that by working 60 hrs a week since high school. going to college at night and earning three college degrees. I thought the more I learned the more I earned. But somehow it became the more I learn the more I pay lazy A-holes to sit on there asses and that I get to support Here's little rap song I wrote for you Early There’s a new clown in town And he’s going round Saying vote for me I’m not Georgie And the stupid folks bought in Now they’re taking it on the chin Cause they gonna pay While watching him say It’s for your own good Specially in da hood Where the dead babies will be free But not to you and me As we watch our great country Turn to poop and we flee Watch the goons demand more And he’s given like a whore When the rest of us see the mess Watch out for the IRS Liberalism is the disease Can’t you see that, Geez It’s been tried before Always ends in a war Freedom is worth fightin for It’s for your own good Specially in da hood Where the dead babies will be free But not to you and me As we watch our great country Turn to poop and we flee -

Steve863- maybe I somewhat agree with you then....Sorry to be so blunt. But in elections between Republicans and Democrats. Its choice between a Turd Sandwich and a Giant Douche. But the democrat is always the worst choice. -

Are you touched in the head? The Republicans only had a majority for about 2yrs in congress prior to Obama. They never had more than 60 Senate seats. They did offer solutions, but no Dem would support them (health saving counts, ability to buy insurance over state lines. YOU A-hole Democrat brought Obamacare to this nation. YOU OWN IT. Not the republicans...NO Republican voted for it. BTW thanks to you A-hole Dems my insurance (from a fortune 500 employer) went from $200 per pay check to $600 per pay check. From a$500 yearly deductible to $7,500 a year deductible. Go F yourselves -
I sit all day. I've been bring fried chicken, a few cold egg rolls and two bottles of water for the past few years. Good luck all--

Human don't toss babies in the trash every day...maybe a sub-human animal does on occassion...but not a human. If I'm wrong, please find me a research paper that shows that this happened on a daily basis. It's easy to claim thing are real...but its harder to proven them.

Almost every town in NYS is required to have a Dog Control Officer (stupid NYS rule...see N.Y. AGM. LAW § 114 : NY Code - Section 114: Dog control officer) If you have a problem with your neighbor’s dog...don't call the Police and waste their time, call the town's dog control officer. Let him or her cease the dogs. If you shoot the dogs and get found, you'll either get arrested, in some cases you'll be beaten beyond recognition. I've hunted a farm in Dutchess where some ass shot the farmers dog...claimed it was running deer. IT wasn't it was walking to a back field where the farmer was working. The farmer found out who did it and the guy was lucky to get off the farm alive. he was taken away in an ambulance. The farmer then kicked ALL hunters off his land.

Last time I was checked was at the Maine border after a Canadian bear hunt. We didn’t get a bear, but the ½ dozen offers acted like a pack of raccoons tearing apart the back of the truck and looking through the coolers. They asked the typical questions, any game, any fish and produce, what did you buy in Canada? The one thing that got them pissed is when they asked any beer? We said yes. We bought a case (24) and drank a few but didn’t know how many were still in the cooler. They wanted to know the precise # that we still had in the cooler (we didn’t know…maybe 18?). They also didn’t like one can of Vienna sausage we bought in Canada. They took the 18 or so beers and sausage…maybe they don’t pay those guards that well?

I find it harder to cape the longer it hangs. I usually cape and quarter them right after I shoot them. if its a large deer I'll do it in the woods, build a small and cook some of the backstraps in tin foil w/ onion and potatoes for lunch.

I'm an old fart. thats why I start walking in around 4am. takes me 2hrs to walk up those hills.

I've found some public hunting land in Duchess that is somewhat less crowed by finding the steepest hardest to climb hills or thickest and wettest swamps. However the best bet is to hunt bow season or the 2nd week of gun season. Most of the Orangemen don’t hunt after the 1st weekend. but by then the deer are hold up in remote hard to get to places If they survived the annual march of the pumpkins

Besides the antlers, how large is that deer? 120 pounds?...it really doesn't look all the large (body wise)...what do you think?

i'm sorry Steve863 and A Sportmsn...your right about the shoe thing..... the age is now 6 for kids....thirty years ago it was 4 Few master the art before the age of six, and some still have difficulty tying their own laces when they are nine or ten years old, it is claimed. The findings represent a major shift in social habits - just thirty years ago, being able to tie shoelaces was regarded as a skill to be learnt by the age of four, but changes in shoe design and footwear fashions means the skill is no longer essential until much older. ----http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/10032568/Children-learn-to-tie-shoelaces-later-than-ever-before.html

I was talking about shoes and wiping ones nose, not making good decisions. Hell, I'm old and make bad decisions and stupid comments on a daily basis. I think the age should be 10, but really don't care that much. I just think its a parents call when to start a kid hunting back to shoes and noses. A 5 yr old can barely do that? really? wow I haven't spent all that much time around young kids, I just assumed they weren't that dumb or lazy
-
if your 5 year old can't tie his shoes or wipe his nose, put him up for adoption you already failed as a parent. Unless the kid has some sort of learning disability
-
also regarding the state land in Dutchess, my brother just arrowed a nice bear yesterday on public land. his kids all have gotten deer this year on the state land.
-
Same thing happened to me in Dutchess, but there are sopme good state lands off of rt 22. only problem is you need to walk up heart attack mountain to get to a good spot, also NYC has lots of land...just watch out for the annual pumpkin parade

just an FYI Farm Labor (Under 16 Years Of Age)In addition, there is a Federal Hazardous Occupations Order covering minors less than 16 years of age engaged in farm work. The federal order sets certain job limits for agricultural workers under the age of 16 who work to produce goods for interstate commerce. The order applies whether or not the minors are covered by federal minimum wage provisions. The order lists 16 forbidden jobs for minors less than 16 years of age, including working with certain power-driven farm machinery, operating a tractor with over 20 PTO horsepower, and working with explosives or certain chemicals. These rules on child labor on farms DO NOT apply, however, to minors who work on a farm owned or run by their parents or to students in a recognized vocational education training program. In addition, there are exemptions for 4-H members who have completed certain training programs and students in other approved farm training and education programs. For details, contact the nearest office of the U.S. Department of Labor, Wage and Hour Division.

Bubba - its up to the parent to decide. if the age is lowered to say 10, that doesn't mean the kid has to hunt at 10. if the kid is inmature or a dumbass, maybe jr needs to wait until he is 18. be a parent. raise your kids, don't outsource your role to the state
-
Steve - you didn't grow up on a farm did you? 12 yrs old already drive on farms. or they did when I was 12
