  1. No need to cement legs. Secured the legs by attaching to rebar driven in ground but even that was likely overkill. It’s heavy and angled legs make it virtually tip proof.
  2. Redneck 360 softsided blind with DYI platform. I am shocked it made it through those winds. But it’s about as sturdy a soft side you will find. The frame is square tube metal and really permanent. Cover can be removed/replaced if needed.
  3. We have way too many out to bring them. They stay and are replaced as needed. Usually hunt ladder stands but bought 2 of these to hunt with kids and hoped metal frame of blind would allow me to leave em out. So far so good.
  4. Figured the 65mph winds did some serious damage to our newly constructed blind and platform. Had to sneak out to check it. It’s a keeper. Didn’t hurt a thing.
  5. That 30-06 should have a much longer effective range. Don’t know much about the blr though.
  6. And what’s wrong with Tasco Mr Highfalutin? First time ever typing that word. Lol
  7. I recommend in the strongest terms possible that no passenger sit in it if I have the controls.
  8. I plan to play on the PMBA tour when I retire. Solid 134 average but improving.
  9. Great slug gun. Love mine. Couple of tips, when you insert the mag, click the back in first and then push in and don't be shy why you pull the bolt for round 2. They are very accurate. Remington accutip!
  10. Dan, why not just use your phone? Most phones have pretty good cameras now, you always have it with you and the pics are stored on it. Quality should be as good as any point and shoot.
  11. G man, no offense but I know how to tune a compound including readjusting for same DL. You need twist cables and string when dropping weight if you want exact same DL. I have tuned many bows and was anal on DL. But if you want to buy new limbs for essentially the same result, it’s your call.
  12. When I was playing around with tuning compounds quite a bit several years ago, I tested this theory. For several bows I had both 60-70lb limbs and 50-60lb limbs. I chronoed the 60-70 set at 60lbs and then the 50-60lb limbs set at 60 - everything else the same. There was almost no difference and a I recall at least one bow shot faster with heavier limbs turned down. My conclusion was that this myth was started by the limb makers to encourage more limb purchases. Lol.
  13. Hunters didn’t spend time building those old wood stands without knowing first it was a good spot. Little more work than plopping down a modern ladder stand.
  14. Look forward to learning from this thread Grampy!
  15. Rob you don’t NEED another gun. Lol
  16. First time I would be at risk of shooting myself.
  17. The good news is that with our lower center of gravity, we are more wind resistant Law.
  18. I decided to park in our lot as far away from trees as possible. Branches dropping like crazy. Maybe I should go sight in one of my rifles. lol
