  1. Swing and a miss for my friend. I think he got a bit of fever since he isn't a bad shot and it was only 17-18yds. But better clean miss than bad hit. Still early so I like his chances. He still seemed optimistic. Moved to my least favorite stand so as not to bother anyone's hunt. Nice afternoon anyway.
  2. Good luck all and congrats to those this morning with deer down. Have a second year hunter with us. Still waiting for his first deer. Hoping it's tonight and I don't care if it has spots. Lol
  3. Good morning so far. First sit this stand. Passed a real solid 2yr old. Rack was good but body said 2 so off he went. Then I get a text, big buck walked behind you. Lol. Oh I know. Saw a few more but nothing in range
  4. Less than 115 is my guess but a nice buck regardless
  5. Could front is kicking in. 11 deer so far since 3pm. Get out there tomorrow folks.
  6. Funny, we have been chasing one buck for 3 seasons now. He showed up this last Thursday at 10:43am in 80 degree heat. No wonder we can't kill him!
  7. I wish I had bucks to keep top secret. Well maybe one or two are around. Besides I don't know anyone that runs cameras. Lol
  8. Are we talking the squirrel or am I missing him in the photo
  9. Doe parade here. 6 ranging from 5-40yds feeding for 1/2 hour. Not winded even when they circled stand. I must need a shower. Lol where is daddy?
  10. I wouldn't Zeus. Just educating the deer. Don't cheat the wind IMO. Pressing slight off wind is ok at the right time but knowingly blowing into deer just doesn't work, again IMO.
  11. Just commented to phade. Not a single shot here and this area is heavily hunted.
  12. Had a doe at 10yds but waiting it out today. Looking forward to all the youth hunt reports
  13. No thanks needed Grampy. You do so much for others that I am just glad that you and Zac will be knocking em down with a rifle that you will enjoy. Now get well!
  14. Well folks, no raffle or big buck contest. I am happy to say that the gun is sold to Grampy and he and Zac will be knocking down deer for years to come with it. Not sure how to close a thread, but mods feel free. Thanks.
  15. probably true. For sure some have better grounds than others. blind draw is fine too, but I suspect we won't have enough participants either way.
  16. seems fair. If it was even close, we could have someone that is certified measure the racks, but not likely necessary.
  17. I was literally thinking about selling it on consignment at Biekirchs and even called yesterday and they said bring it in. But I have been delaying. I don't want to deal with online gun sales sites either. Chas, you can buy it outright if you want, but if there is enough interest, I am happy to do a raffle or big buck contest. Only looking to cover $1800 if we do either.
  18. I actually thought this may be fun, but doesn't seem to be much interest. lol Winner gets a great rig and a huge buck. How can you go wrong.
  19. Geeze even I could do an all day sit with that set up.
  20. I just picked up a starter kit for my son. It was a pfleuger 4 weight - around $45 and included everything needed to start. I suspect he will want one with more quality but before I drop several hundred on something better, it should be enough to decide if he likes it. Seemed to pick up basic casting pretty well from youtube vids.
  21. I like your chances with that kind of regularity
  22. Good luck TF and bartman. Looking forward to some happy photos, deer or no deer!
