2 doe wandered by but like most females, they were looking for Larry and paid me no mind. -

Maybe it's my Shek head but others I know have the same issue. My compound is only 32" but no chance of it clearing my brim. Hmmm -

How do you folks wear baseball hats shooting a bow? The string hits the brim when I try. Doesn't matter what bow I shoot either -

Awesome bass. You could have a replica mount made from the photo if you wanted.

I should mention that Larry was kind to invite me to his property. Walked me to the stand and then like a zen master disappeared. I swear he was flying through the trees like the crouching tiger movie (I think that was the name). Clear to me now why deer have no chance against him. -

Darn it. I knew they went the wrong way. No call either. Direct them this way -

Nice morning. Turkey around and hope they stop by. -
You trap guys? I know a few women like that but would never have suspected that of you Stone.

Careful what you wish for. Lol It's an addiction and big commitment to become proficient. But anyone with the time and desire can get it done. No special skills required - that I can assure you.

No, I killed two this year with the recurve and neither were in the thread. Holding out for a good buck pic. Lol

I hunt from the same exact stands as compound but they are mostly between 13-16ft. Not real high. The furthest I have killed a deer with the recurve was 27yds but that was from the ground. Killed one a couple of weeks ago at 24yds from a stand. I prefer 25 and under with the recurve, but can shoot decent to 40. A bad shot at 40 could be way off though. I am good to at least 40 under any circumstances with a compound. In the end, I love a barebow recurve, but they require tons of practice, tend to be louder, much less maneuverable, shorter range and less certainty. That said, a perfect shot with one makes you feel sooo good. If the only goal is to kill deer, there are better choices. If the goal is to have fun and be challenged, it's tough to beat. Pretty much save the compound now for rain or if I know I am sitting a stand where most likely shots are 30yds or longer. Give it a go. It just takes patience and lots of practice. Oh and a willingness to give more of the edge to the deer.

Yes I do - most of the time

Ok - you actually got me psyched to hunt tomorrow

Bunch of sissies in my opinion

That is cool. Congrats!

I just think its funny when people talk about 2 and 3 year olds as mature. I am not above shooting either, but know they aren't mature. Sure they are bigger than a 1 year old and the growth is more obvious from 1-3, but the same is true of humans. Some humans may even look fairly mature at 14years old, but they still have lots of maturing to do. Now that buck, ain't no 2,3 or 4 year old. Would I texas heart shoot it, put him at 30 yds in front of me with my slug gun as he walks away and we will find out. I would hope not, but until then, its all theoretical. Kind of like finding $2mm in a bag in the woods. Would you turn it in? I would hope so but prefer not to be tested.

You have anyone to help with a grid search? If you got guts, he will be dead its just a matter of time.

Great way to look at it. You win either way.

How many lever fans out there .35 marlin for me

I really like my Henry 30-30, but if push came to shove, I would take a bolt action over lever action as my only rifle.
