I am closer to the Island than Doe although I never considered hunting it. Give us some pointers on where we can hunt in relative solitude, and where there isn't a chance that our deer will drop next to someones backyard barbecue, and we will be there. With us there, area 1C will become a "preference points needed" area before you know it! LOL there are plenty of areas to hunt out here! but whats the fun with shooting deer that dont die near someones BBQ? whats wrong with that? lol jk there are plenty of areas around on the island where its nowhere near houses, man you guys have the wrong idea of us long island hunters lol. and if the island becomes a preference points needed because of you 2, we will post up wanted signs of you guys on all the trees lol. but if your interested i can deff point you guys in the right direction. i know plenty of spots...

Nah I'm from way upstate, Saratoga county, but that is an idea Geno...country boy goes to city and slaughters many doe..lol its a movie! Maybe there is no permits cause they figured we killed em all already. ha LOL! you and steve can be the main stars of the movie.

there has been quite a few guys on here who have done so this past season. i have yet to do it tho

there is nothing worse then careless hunters... ive been fortunate enough to not have that happen to me as i would not be happy at all with that individual. The guys i hunt with have never and would never, its just that simple... the bordering neighbors? well i dont know, but lucky for them none have ever raised the gun up at me scoping things out. but it doesn't surprise me that this happens often as there are some guys who are not very bright.

drink alost 2 gallons of water a day... this heat is crazy. its so funny how once deer season is over and the bitter cold sticks around for a few months i beg for summer! now that the dog days of summer are here i CAN NOT WAIT for fall!!! lol jeez, i cant win lol

Like anything else it's a personal preference... As I got older and more experienced I became less challenged when it came to killing deer... so about 17 years ago started getting picky about what I shoot, how I hunt and what I shoot them with... I still however use a rifle in the ADK's simply because the challenge is the woods itself... and shooting a big buck there makes it even more of a challenge... so it's nice to have a little firepower when you finally get that opportunity to take a nice buck in the ADK's.. when I hunt close to home it's MZ w/patch and ball.. or the recurve... Harley riders have a saying about riding a Harley that applies here about shooting trad bow... "If I have to explain it, you wouldn't understand." ;D no need to explain joe lol i got ya... its a similar statement made by other guys who shoot traditional bows, well minus the Harley comment LOL!

I'm not much of any kind of bowhunter, but I would agree. I would much prefer a more accurate and effective and easier to shoot bow if I must use one, and that without a doubt is a compound. I do however think that compound bows have grown to where there are just way too many bells and whistles attached to them. Just to many parts, gadgets, gear, junk, etc. for my liking involved with modern day compounds. That is why I will hang on to my fairly simple 1990 compound bow until it falls completely apart or I die. Whichever comes first. LOL yeah me too Steve. It seems over the years Recurves have slowly become more popular. Im not bashing anyone who still uses them or wishes to get into using them BUT i just seems silly to me. Ive watched shows when they use recurves and it makes me lough. One guy was ranting and raving about his recurve, he gets a 15 yard shot on a deer perfectly broadside, gut shot the dang thing and when i say he got NO penetration, that would be an understatement. he lost that deer... i admit tho these new compounds are somewhat futuristic compared to modern day compounds but they are great Steve lol. i have an 2005 Mathews switch back XT ill stick too. Its dead acurate and has great penetration, i also feel very confident with it which is important. you have to feel comfortable with what you shoot no matter what it is...

each deer can vary in their growing process... some can have another 2 -3 weeks or so and some can harden up as early as beginning of August.

i still dont get the whole hype on recurves lol... i just dont...
