  1. Ya, if you touch a wall with your hand ,I can come in after and see the hand print . It’s interesting that these cheaper ones guys are that sensitive , I’m surprised really .
  2. Guys always wanted to take the dept.s spare / back up thermal imaging cameras during hunting season . That of course was not allowed , we might need them to find people trapped in burning buildings , plus ours ran about 12k .
  3. Fun start . Let the dog out , he peed came back in followed me upstairs and crapped on the carpet . I went to get a bag and spray cleaner , he stepped in it and tracked it down every step and the hallway . That set me back 20 minutes , after hitting the snooze one to many times to start with . yet here I am
  4. To easy . I much prefer a long agonizing season , the meat is so, much sweeter .
  5. Private posted land , same as all the neighbors , 100’s of acres of crops in between . I sometimes take it off . One where I don’t wish the houses across the road to see where I am . Other times so I can observe what the hunters on the farm south of me do ,if they don’t see orange on my side .. Haven’t seen a person or boot track on my spot in years upon years . Zero concerns .

    Beer

We drink a lot of that !
  8. Zippo today . At least I’m to the point ,where I don’t expect to see any , so I’m over the shock ,and disappointment of not seeing any . Back at it in the morning where ,we had a nice buck OD , but daughter had “ technical difficulties . “ This is what that spot looked like in the summer.
  9. Same here,my only hope is something starts out of the thicket to the left with light left . Good luck !
  10. My rifle has fallen asleep from shear boredom . Heading home back for last light , but I’ll have to be super stealthy getting in .
  11. Nothing seen , one shot a bit off an hour and a half ago . This year absolutely sucks .
  12. And another sit ( two people ) and no deer seen . Did see four in the green field as we left in the dark , that’s the only time I see them as of late ,nothing leaving cover till dark . They also saw us and ran towards Tyler’s woods to the North , then the coyotes over there started going nuts . I shot one coyote with the bow , shaved the back hair off another in gun and passed up a few more so far this season . Honestly I’m seeing more of those pests then deer right now .
  13. Welcome to the club . I only see deer when I walk out in the dark , nothing comes out of heavy cover in the light . I hope to catch one ( anything ) coming back a bit late in the morning .
  14. Team Nomad in and occupying stands 4&5 , no wind wet leaves going to require sharp eyes . I’ve taken 10Pts out of each stand , what will tonight bring ? Im backing up stand 5 and covering 14 acre field .
  15. Once gun starts you have to hunt up close to the houses , I’m kidding but that’s also true.
  16. Why not educate us ? I can only go by what they say when they wish to use our land for their trail system. per our attorney is he wrong ?
  17. How about the snowmobilers buy their own land , problem solved . Where I am there’s not any state trails , it’s all permission granted by landowners . Id say 2 or 3 out of the last 5 gun seasons I’ve had them trespass on our posted land during the day while I was hunting during the gun season , not really conducive to winning me over to granting permission for their trials to cross our land . Jeremy , it’s a common misconception that farmers can hunt whenever they want . The guy who owns the farm I hunt ,never made it out in bow and hunted till 9AM opening day, so far . His brother who lives across from my spot ,owns land but doesn’t work the farm ,has a full time job and a side business,I think he made it out twice in bow and opening day . Each would benefit from a longer season , farm work is winding down , firewood delivery is mostly done by then as well .
  18. To bad the pictures aren’t clearer, but since he’s most likely a local they may work out . Frankly he would have returned to find a gut pile on our land . Best of luck .
  19. What ? The opening of the trails is dependent upon us landowners granting permission , and for many of those that do , that’s not going to be till after hunting season ends , lengthening the season pushes that date out .
  20. Not much of a ML guy, I’ve owned one Knight MK85, used loose powder . I learned to push it out every night ,and reloaded next morning . Sometimes if I came home at night and was going in the morning I’d hang it in the garage, to avoid the temperature change of inside . The temperature changes ( house, car , outside ,car , house , outside ... ) can cause the powder to absorb moisture. I found this out first hand when my powder was a solid black wet mass ,once when I unloaded .
  21. Happy Thanksgiving ! Daughter from Buffalo is here, it’s so nice to here her and her Mom laughing as they chop up stuff in the kitchen .
  22. So far this year I haven’t had the opportunity to say either or ither . Out West it’s weird an 8 pt, could be a 4x4 or a 4 as I know guys who just count one side and some don’t count brows .... I count everything then add a couple . https://www.greatfallstribune.com/story/outdoors/2017/04/24/buck-bragging-east-west/100857832/
