Interesting , I’ve only had one buck that had a few chunks out of it, and that was off Hard Rd in Webster , there’s a senior living complex there now .

Never saw any conflicts , although one time with the C loop parked with hunters and one cabin of leaf peepers I always wondered how they felt . You never run into non hunters off the road . BTW it looks like we could have 17-20 guys going ( based on group text ) , should be fun , one retired Capt. Is going just to cook . I’m not, planing on hunting , if anything may ground hunt .

They know a guy who’s high school, aged son bought a new pick up off the money he got from one year of trapping them ( many years ago ) . They have a pic of what looks like a long wood fence lining a road, it’s really the pelts hanging on a wire fence .

Not necessarily, I have a bow hunter friend who uses a climber that way , his climber is on the “ back side “ he stands and faces the tree . I won’t argue with him , I’ve seen his kills . I think many set up their ladders wrong as they’re perpendicular to the trail , and not parallel, with their back towards , the assumed travel direction.

From what I’ve read, manufacturers have production runs scheduled out one or two years in advance , with 9mm and .223 being the top, dogs . Some Gov. purchases orders take years to fill , and some ammo is only produced every few years ! Odd ball or less popular rounds one may have quite a wait ,till they find it again .

My friends in Montana, knocked down three antelopes ie pronghorns this past weekend . Anywho , one was shot at last light and left over night , this is what was left . Yikes most I’ve seen gone here on a deer was a chunk out of his a$$ .

Wasn’t part of any group text, but it was easy to figure out . Phade is the only other member that Moog knows has met my beagle ,so when he “ couldn’t confirm or deny “, that was a definite yes as it almost always is . That and I’m a big believer in Occams razor .

I actually have a human finger bone, I was going to make a neckless with it,but never got around to it .

Good ,luck . Try Buds guns online they ship to NY . The ammo shortage started in March ,with it hitting hunting ammo a month or so, ago . Ive ordered from Buds tons of times . What are you looking for ?

Didn’t want to deal with processing a doe in this heat , winds gotta be 40 mph too ! -
My daughter , has a 7mm08 ,that is fine for her, easy shooting gun and they all drop with one shot ( I use the same caliber) . There’s a reduced recoil load for it that is still a deer killer , if you want an even milder shooting load . Im right handed and my right eye got very weak , so I switched to shooting the same shotgun lefty ( deer shotgun ) no issue . Then when rifle came about here I bought a lefty .270 and killed a bunch lefty, after my LASIK both eyes went to 20/20 ( left eye dominant) I then won a righty 7mm08 and use that right handed again , except last year I shot my buck with that gun but shot left handed due to having to lean way out to the left for my only shot ... So as for eye dominance most will say go, with that , although currently I shoot right and close left eye .

Everything written will say canned meat lasts, one year . People that do it will tell you up to three . I’m just a beginner , but I’ve had chicken a short time after canning ,it wonderful . Makes a very good chicken wing dip, chicken salad sandwiches, I’ve also used it in pasta dishes . The idea of not depending on my freezer to store meat is appealing, and those who can venison all say it’s very very good, contrary to what one might think .
-
Very nice ! My buddy goes to Utah Thursday for an Elk hunt , he’s shipping all the meat back and I’m down for 30#s or so ,if he connects .

Yard across the street, a nice doe was in the backyard too .
