So I had to take a break from this strong Fla. sun, checked out the site and wondered why this thread was 26 pages . Sadly I found out . Good news is I just brought my sister in law to the airport, she was here all last week, 4 of wife’s friends show up Tuesday ( 3 bed 2 bath but only 4 places to sit in living room .....) . At least I found the liquor and cigar shop near by .

Lucky for her,the gym here had this spread set up, with these little gift bags .

Ya I didn’t even know it was tomorrow till this post .I’d consider sleeping in the same bed room tomorrow,but that bed kills my back and she snores .....

Most folks 62 vs 67 the break even year is age 75 . My family lives 20 plus year past that ,so a six figure gain by waiting . My parents were still, traveling into their late 80s . SS is only one leg of the stool ,frankly we don’t need it ,but it will allow us to not draw off others till RMD .

Each person has to go by their own situation, life expectancy and so forth . The fact that firefighters have a 67 % cancer rate compared to 22% for the general population does have me a bit concerned .

We did talk boats today ..... Also my car mechanic gave me a case of windshield washer fluid , he bought something like 100 cases to fill his tractor tires . He paid like 60 cents a gallon , never knew guys did that .

Wife’s brother , an attorney ( just passed in Dec ) had one .

One can protect your money from nursing homes , we did for my Mom, and it’s not beating the five year look back . Cost us 17k to set up ,protected six figures . Wife and I are looking into trusts ,but have a lot to learn ,the elder care attorney we used for my Mom , also does them ,we need to meet . Those that don’t protect their money, the nursing home charges the same no matter what your SS is ,you don’t give them more . Although our attorney negotiated our payments as well . Elder care attorneys know all the people that run them and can work wonders .

It was a delight meeting Mr and Mrs gossifer for lunch at The Crow’s Nest,Venice Beach , today . Thanks for lunch ,next one is on us , enjoy the rest of your stay .

Wife waited a few years , my guy wants me to wait till 70 . I’ll most likely draw at 67 . My family lives until 90s and 100, my break even year is 75 . I believe at 62 I can claim an amount equal to half of hers, need to check that and make sure it doesn’t effect mine later on .

The classics never go out of style ! I only wear tank tops because restaurants require a shirt . If it helps the sunglasss are Maui Jim’s and the watch Rolex .

Ha, I had a camo ball cap I cut a V out of the brim ...... Just did it to be an a$$, and get some laughs . Never had an issue with ball caps and bows .

My observations on Fla . Haven’t found any really good restaurants,everyone is old ,and the beer selections in most places are so so at best . Tonight Fat Tire which was The stand out of their offerings .

Years ago I saved a newspaper article about a woman who killed one with a knife . She commented on how hard it was to penetrate the hide, “ kinda like shark “ she said . Oh and one more reason not to ever “ jog “ .

Here’s one of my “ dog “ areas, not 20x20 but it serves it’s purpose. I also snow blow the rear patio and a grass area , as it’s all fenced in and we can just open the door to let him in and out .

It’ll be interesting for us . 5 months of pay, 7 of pension this year ,salt idk , my property tax is only around 5k, no state tax on pension .No mortgage, kids out of college ,the standard doubling may work in my favor .
