Happy Birthday , enjoy !

Our euchre party’s tend to be more about the breaks in between rounds ,sometimes . This was a drinking game where the song Thunderstuck is played , one person chuggs when AC/DC sings “ Thunder “ and doesn’t stop till it’s sung again , which is when the next person starts ,and around it goes .

Skip euchre!? I took first place , pocketed $100 . Ate like a king and drank well . I think I’ll hunt a couple days this week, no night time, just sit in a stand , like deer season ,most deer seasons I drop one and pass up a few . Locals say there’s a pack of 12-15 on my spot . Congrats on tonight’s kill .

Oskar brewing IPA at Hawaiian themed euchre party . I’m in the lead as well .

I use Mucks, the tallest ones I could find . I hunt wet muddy farmland with drainage ditches I have to cross so water proof and tall are needed . I stand hunt, and wear one pair of socks , don’t really have a cold foot issue , with normal season temps . I love them , stuff my pant legs inside boots ,which keeps pants clean and dry, easy to take off/ put on at truck , which keeps truck clean . Bought my daughter a pair of Muck Arctic Ice , for deer hunting as well as city use , the city does a poor job cleaning sidewalks . As for lasting , I’m on my second set of Mucks, first pair got some small tears in The neoprene, still water proof unless you stand in the water for a while . I still use them around the house and hunting when the water is low as they’re not as tall as second set . I dry them each night, wad up paper towels and stuff them in . Just bought a boot drier too. Starting out with dry feet, and drying them After is key to comfort in any boot .

The Mrs grabbed this, so so . Like some better then others .

Not much of a coyote hunter, but I’ve just shot them in bow and gun season . Shot them as they crept up on turkeys , came in after deer I’ve dropped ,or just as they walked by . Never tried calling or night hunting, although I’m up for that . Why do guys go out at night ? Are they more active then ? I do have a friend who runs them with dogs over miles and miles ,he kills an ungodly number of them , that seems fun, perhaps I’ll give him a call .

G man is the man ! Total agreement . The greatest marketing ploy of all time was convincing suburbanites that they needed a farm vehicle. Just bought my first ever p/u a few months ago Z71 off road ( buying a camper ) , kinda nice , but I prefer to drive the Outback . Way better ride, handling, double the MPG and laughs at snow . My locking metal deck cover was only $500 and made in USA btw

Buddy was out again . -
I agree , I’d bet many would be left behind . Its a neat marketing tool made me chuckle , but if the pizza sucks, I don’t care if there’s a stack of Shoot - N- See targets on the box ,I’m not buying it . Also you’d think Alaskans would be much better shots....

Cold weather hunting bibs

Typically, for me to get my First Responder discounts it worked one of two ways. I either had to contact them through my .Gov email, others used third party verification sites. ID me, was one I used ,they verified employment through emails, copies of IDs,paystubs what have you . But once it was set up you were good to on various sites and companies . -
I’ve never had an issue with DEC officers , and I’ve been checked at the road many times, while open carrying . Once was in the summer, I was checking and repairing posted signs , when I got to the road one was sitting there in his car. There was an ongoing poaching issue and he was just checking me out . I had my Glock on my hip, he glanced at it and never said a word about it . We had a nice chat , and he gave me his card . I,often carry my SW mod 586 .357, for up close shots and I’ve finshed a couple that I spined with it .

Why do they hate it ? Also what did they buy ? My folks spent 30 winters in FLA. in a mobile home park with tons of activities, trips and so on, many friends from up here all around them ,they were as busy or slow as they wanted to be. My Dad had a little shop in a large shed and repaired all kinds of things for the widows ...... Did they buy in a retirement community , or a stand alone house/ condo somewhere ?

Dick's Sporting Goods is taking a little dive

Dicks will one day, be a “ ball” sports store only ,and F&S will be their hunting outlet. That seems pretty clear right now . -
Yep ! Got a house rented in North Port FLA for the month of Feb . Stopping in the Villages for a few days on the way down ,to visit wife’s best friend ,who, lives there year round , and again on way home to visit my sister and bil, they own a house there ,but just winter in it . Honestly one ,month doesn’t give us enough time to visit all the friends, relatives , and my former co workers on the FD in FLA, not counting the ones in North ,South Carolina and Tennessee. First time for us, still trying to figure it all out . sorry about your dog, our old Beagle is coming with us ..... We waited to long to book a house and only 8% were open, add a dog and it became limited . Most are booked a year or more in advance . St Augustine is an interesting place ,was there a few years back .

Idk I maybe shoot maybe 200 arrows in practice with my compound per year ,starting generally in August . I may shoot a few earlier to make sure nothing needs fixing though ( on me or bow lol ) . I generally shoot as well then as I did at the end of the season . I know many who don’t even shoot before Sept .,then If bow is on they’re pretty much done . I don’t know one bow hunter ok Moog, who shoots year round ,most start to,think about it when licenses go on sale .

The Sherpa holster has a lock mechanism that is released by pressing it in with your index aka trigger finger as you grip and draw . You can probably guess at why many feel that’s a bad design ..... Folks trigger fingers are still moving “ in “ as the gun comes out, sometimes you get a bang . Many police depts. Fed agencies ,gun clubs, shooting events have banned them . Still some say it’s just a training issue . Read this if you have trouble sleeping ..... https://www.fletc.gov/sites/default/files/imported_files/reference/public-information/freedom-of-information-act-foia/reading-room/training-information/holisterStudy.pdf

Dont use a “ full” strap around the tree , they’re easy to spot 360. Use a piece just long enough to stick out past the camera and nail to tree . Use a short nail and leave head out a bit . Jeremy , it’s an Ontario Knife company. Spec Plus Marine. No emblem . Don’t see this one listed anymore . http://ontarioknife.com/fixed-blades/spec-plusr-series.html

I beat his a$$ and took it ! I love that $30 made in NY knife, goes with me anytime I’m in the woods, I’ve beat the crap out of it , comes right back , kinda like me !

The best Tile ( the pro ) has a range of only 300 feet . I don’t lock much , never had an issue in 30 plus years I this spot . This year I did lock my Lone Wolf hang on. Went to take it down today ,had wrong key, my knife and four whacks with a chunk of metal I found nearby did the trick. Regular presence, along with distance , farm to,the south who I get along with runs a mile , ours to the North just as far . Know locals to the East and West .
