It’s a pity so many haven’t learned from all the past shortages and runs on ammo and stacked it deep when they could .
-
Me too . Its odd to think one can protect just the end of a sandbar from flooding .
-
That’s messed up ,make the park area bigger to attract more people but less parking . Also , I watched the town board discussion on FB ,new dock and ,break wall all the way to the East end of the cove and around . in my youth that area attracted a lot of shore fishermen from out of the area , the current cattails now prevent shore fishing , the new plan is likely to appeal more to, outsiders then town residents . It’s interesting , raise Lake Road and around the Restaurant, to,prevent flooding .yet what about all those homes between the Bay and the road just West of that spot ? Raise it all except the homes and they’ll take on more flood waters it would seem , it’s got to go somewhere .

Yep we’ve been seeing that on the friends of Webster FB page ,or something like that . I’ve been going there since the ‘70s when it was the Clam Shack ,Jack Daniels Then the Bayside ! It’s a safe bet that more people go to the Bayside now then will go to the “ park “ that replaces it . The town will build another building in its place ,but who will win the bid and what will they put in there ? Even if Baysides owners take over the new building it won’t be the same , but that’s the best we can hope for . our friends who went Friday night at well prime time had a 2 1/2 hour wait , ( on their boat ) I’d imagine it’ll get worse with everyone trying to,go as much as they can while they can .

It’s crazy the number of friends we have that moved there . Then there’s three other couples we know , two went down for part of the winter ,one owns a condo the other rents . They came back up, where it was still masks, and closed this and that , one sold their NY home and bought one in Fla sight unseen ,well his sister there checked it out . The other came back to masks and closers ,and the politicians talking about a large fossil fuel tax and said F this state , he’s retired but his wife still works ,when she retires, their moving to their condo, and trying to get their adult kids to relocate too. My hunting partner and his wife have been going for a bit in the winter and working from “ home “ for a few years ,they own a condo there . Next year they’re leaving after Thanksgiving ( if he has a good buck by then ) coming back in May. Her Mother and sister have both moved there and I can see them moving soon as he retires ( part owner of a factory.) As far as housing our oldest did very well buying one here two Marches ago, the issue is like in the article, she could sell for way more, but then you’re in the same boat of paying more if you can find one .

We’ve been out so much it’s hard to keep, track . The Genny Azacca is outstanding! Just had a growler at home too ,and need more !
-
Ha , I don’t know lol ,guys ask me to look and I don’t always think to ask those things . If you need anything let me know perhaps we could swap . I have access to a lot of handgun ammo, centerfire rifle and shotgun ammo, but that tends to run towards law enforcement stuff .

I’ve been looking for those in 20ga for a friend , I’ve seen Hornady SST , and a few other sabots in 20ga . I’m not sure how many he has , but I’m thinking he may want to grab something else while he can .

This article doesn’t go into the details that another one I read did , that one said of the 2/3s who want more ammo one half said they wanted “ a lot more “ with the other half just saying ,” more . Rather odd vagueness for a survey . Considering the “ average “ gun owner bought two boxes a year, theses numbers wanting more or a lot more equal years of normal demand all condensed into right now . It’s nice that guys are seeing ammo showing up here and there , but I don’t expect loaded shelves for sometime . Throw in some riots , mass shootings , more gun control bills and all bets are off . https://www.americanrifleman.org/content/survey-indicates-ammo-shortage-likely-to-continue/

Next week it’s cooling down a bit , I’m heading to my range !

I used to be a pro backer . Here’s the ramp,I use , I could back out of the parking spot, right into the ramp with no corrections fast and straight . Now I have issues , oh not to bad but no longer one smooth motion . I can’t turn to see as well and can’t always see the damn trailer from the new car/ truck . Oh I’m still better then you guys though !

There also, boat clubs cheapest for her is 4K for 20 times ,just show up hop in and go . She’d never use it anywhere near that though . Day rental for her May work out for a handful of times, except her friends dont have much $$$ to chip in .

Ya my buddy who’s been on the Marine Unit of the Sheriffs dept. for idk 35 years ? taught my other daughters class many moons ago . He even drove her to the class . This one wants to take it as well . Just got back from an hour cruise, first since the carbs were rebuilt, that 1985 Johnson ran like a SOB ! The ramp I had to drop the trailer wheels off the sharp drop down, but my Subaru’s 4 wheels were on dry pavement , so no issues . Actually better then with high water when my tailpipe is under water and my wheels are well into the water and loose traction . So boat seems ok but it’s a ‘64 and you never know ! Still think the weekends will just be a dangerous zoo, heck now there’s powerboats, Jetskis , kayaks, sailboats ,wind and chop . This marina has day slips for a few bucks I may end up launching early and getting a slip ,so she can just hop on later in the day , then pull it out prior to dark I guess .

I pay ten at a single ramp at a marina , ( leaving now ) once the state ramp across the outlet opened It freed up the marina , as parking there is very limited . My concern is not the ramp as much as the boat traffic ,our daughter will be pretty much limited to weekends on a crowded bay full of newbies like her . Sure she’s gone out with me since she was born , and “ driven “ the boat on week days with no traffic , or giant wakes , or had to take it into the ramp more then a couple times with me . I see no joy in this .

No . the only reason I got the J&J shot was if for some reason I need to hop on a plane ,in some emergency type thing . Otherwise I’d just leave where they asked , 8 of us left a winery last week when the said we had to mask up to enter . You can’t swing a dead cat without hitting a winery in the Finger Lakes ....

That’s how my friend from up North got their Christmas Tree, they’d shoot the top off a Ceder I believe . But then they’d put the Bullheads in the bathtub overnight and then clean them after school too .

Same here Rob, for me it was off before noon, I’d try to hit the ramp 11 ish to take out .But now with so many more boaters I’m trying to gage if I even want to try that.

So I’ve been going out in boats since I was born in ‘59 ,parents had a cottage till my late 20s and I’ve towed a boat every year since . I would have sold my old tub this year , but our youngest in Buffalo wants to come back and use it this year . Well the state ramp on the Bay ( which I don’t use ) had like a two hour wait last weekend, with many new boaters, who don’t know to remove canvas and load it at home not on the ramp ..... Marinas added slips and have waiting lists, all of which tells me I don’t want to even go out on a week end, I’ve actually never have gone on weekends , for the most part , and when I did it was early to ski and off by noon . Whats it like where you boat ? I realize many here fish and I’m guessing that at 5:30AM it’s not to bad , but mid day week ends it sounds bad . I’d consider not going to Irondequoit Bay ( 5 minutes away) to Canandaigua or another close finger lake, in hopes they’re not as bad .

Single Cut , Whammy ! Very good .
-
I’m no to sure what day today is, but we went out last night, again tonight and late lunch at Genny Brew house tomorrow after I take our boat out for a bit .
-
Grabbed some 5.56 for the future sil and a box of .38 for daughter #2 . Their prices have risen a bit as their cost has gone up . Came up short on a certain .308 round though .

Dinner with four couples, we’re the only one that hasn’t either moved permanently to FLA or changed their address to their 7 month FLA home . Then two couples showed up who are my sisters neighbors and both of them are doing the same thing ! Anyways Three Heads the Kind IPA, must have had one to many as I picked up the tables check ......

There is much to be said with carrying a multi tool , its certainly more versatile. I have two I carry often an old Gerber , with a real file and full sized pliers. My Leatherman Wingman is sweet, the one hand opening blade is a game changer , no unfolding and looking for a blade then refolding to use .

$21 for 9mm ball is what the place I go to gets , I’m all set with 4K of that though . I’m hitting the gun shop Wednesday to shop for a member here and a friend , of course I’ll fill in the 8 box limit with some for me too .
