I was never going to hunt for a shot, or drive across town 2x and stand in line with the hoi polloi . Now that I can walk up anywhere and get the one and done J&J I’m thinking about it just in case it becomes required for events and travel . But our triple A team, just announced ,they’ll have vaccinated and non vaccinated sections , but the non vaccinated section sounds better , I can put my feet up as nobody will be in front of me, shorter lines in the bathroom and at the beer counter as well .

Word on the street is after the “ academy “ members showed up, they had to shut down ,due to the beer being depleted.

It’s a good thing cdl is waved for us to drive fire trucks ! It could never be done , our city only has 500 FF but the logistics would be overwhelming. As an LT part of my responsibility was teaching the recruits when they got out of the academy and assigned to a company . They drove very little in the academy ,now here’s a50,000 pound 45 foot long straight truck and city streets , and to add more fun you get lights and sirens ! I found it best to close my eyes at times .

That’s dirt cheap ,2K an acre must be scrub land . My land in the finger lakes area , I wouldn’t even reply to that offer , triple it maybe .

So I grabbed some ammo today and got one box of American Whitetail 7mm rem mag , 139gr lnterloc that I don’t need. Thought I was grabbing 7mm08 . $30 , you pick up in Webster .

Ha ! Being older we’re pretty diversified, when the market is way up I look at those stock gains, and the around 4% I get off my fixed account and think ,” wow what if this was in stocks too . When the market drops I look at that 4% fund and grin . Some are buying “ things “ in anticipation of inflation. If I could buy 50,000 rounds of ammo today I would , I have a friend who pulls out large gains and puts it into his house and land , hard to fault that . Add insulation, a wood stove , a four season room, an out building, full of food you canned, and bought . Hyper inflation ? Then sit back toss another log on the fire , in your new four season room ,and open a book . It’s nice to own things . Right now I’ve found ammo to be the best currency out there . Theses guys who can’t find land to hunt on would have no problem if they offered a few boxes of ammo to a farmer who was out .......

I have a few grand in coinbase and a couple coins for sh!ts and giggles ,I’m not looking to make a fast 10k . I satisfied making many times that off my boring stock and bond index funds each year . In a few years ,I’ll see where they are and decide what to do with them . if I was looking to chance doubling a fair amount of money quick, I’d bet 100k on black at the roulette wheel .

Just look at the Amazon drivers pay and benefits vs unionized UPS drivers . I was a union member close to 30 years, a house steward most of those years, I can say with certainty, health and safety was our biggest concern ( my biggest raise ever was 4% once or twice ,zero a few times ,2% being average ) . There has been many safety changes and programs implemented over the recent years because of the Union . The city doesn’t give a rats ass if we get hurt or die, there’s a list of new people to hire at starting pay and a lower retirement tier as well .

These are my favorites by far . I have two, pair they were great at work as they fit in my uniform boots ,as they’re fairly thin but incredibly warm ! I’ve worn those two,pair for years upon years maybe ten , if They were still made I’d buy a dozen pairs .

Construction companies can’t find workers as many are collecting the ramped up unemployment pay , and working off the books on their own . Gas tanker drivers moved on to other jobs , when people weren’t driving much , and covid shut down the CDl classes so no replacements now . Hope you don’t need an ambulance in Roch. always a high turn over field covid shut down the training for new hires, as well as requiring long deacon between runs , the anti,police movement has caused many cops to leave and many police jobs hold for hours , so clearing the scene for EMS isn’t timely . Emboldened criminals , higher crime rate and EMS workers are packing it in . We always try to stock up on consumables, so things like ammo, pool Chlorine , chicken , paper products , limited edition gin are stacked high and deep here .

Guy that lives behind my spot , goes out after his normal breakfast 9 or later he’s pretty successful . I do that 50% of the time , and sometimes it’s years between Turkey hunts lol . I let a young man from down the road Turkey hunt my woods , he hunts just week ends , but who knows how much he calls and moves around in there ,I’ll have to see if he hunts this week end .

Hardly Turkey hunt, I had a easy yelper with me and there’s some round disc thing that ones supposed to scratch with this stick thing . I don’t know a purr from a cluck from a Yelp ,if used a call, it may bring in a coyote looking for the Turkey in distress.....

Thanks, no wonder I, only found three sheds, they’re still on their heads ! id like to see the three legged doe in person , if it’s hunting season ,I’d give her a pass, unless it seemed in distress ,which since it looks good after the winter seems unlikely. I wonder about her and all those coyotes though . And that one laying down has a really big head !

More, three legged doe first

The three legged doe is still around, bucks with horns well into April and to many coyotes to count .

Well they did what I’ve watched them do for 20 years. They roost in the same part of the woods, cross this14 acre field and go up on the big green hill behind me . The toms all crossed to far to my left today . i don’t use decoys or call it’s pure man against beast . Well I believe I found the coyote I hit high last opening day of deer .

A whole herd of turkeys left the woods and are in the field , heading my way slowly . 3 are all puffed up and have fans out , those are the ones I shoot right ?
