When my buddy bought his land idk 10 years ago there was a blue plastic barrel cut in half lengthwise, buried in the ground at the base of a slope . He never added water, cleaned it out nothing, it’s full of green “ water “ Deer stop and drink from it regularly, I took a pic of a young buck drinking from it last bow season . I’ll try and find it .

Daughters yard , it just hangs as we party on the deck , mom is laying 100 yards away in a baseball field .

Ha fun day . My buddy who,lives on the bay took myself and a friend from FLA. out today , sunny and flat water , not the best conditions , but smallmouth everywhere ,saw dozens of them , problem is they wouldn’t hit anything . We got a couple small ones, perch and I got a crappie . We return to Joe’s dock, which is in about the best cove for fishing on the bay , a gal is fishing in some flat thing that you peddle with your feet . Joe tells her , “ there’s a nice sized one that lives in here ,” , she says ya it’s 4.42 pounds, i caught it a little bit ago “ . Wtf

I can grab you some at the place I go. Now last time “ hunting rounds “ were scarce, but I’ve seen 7mm08, 30-30, 30.06, 270, .243 , .308 and so on . My 7mm08 was $25 a box I’d guess .270 would run around the same . I don’t need any more , but I’ll go once in awhile to look for .270 of you wish .

Roll the dice boys ! Or use UPS. I’ve never not been asked at the post office , “ anything ,liquid, perishable , fragile or hazardous ( hint that’s ammo )? “ Then they ask “ what’s inside ? “ why risk a felony when it’s simple and legal for you to just use UPS ?

I swapped two boxes of 7mm08 for two 35 rem with a member here . 35 rem is hard to get in the best of times , I don’t use it but my buddy does ,I’m giving him the two boxes tomorrow.

That’s tricky . US Mail won’t ship it and it’s a 10k fine if they catch you . Fed ex nope , UPS will but only from their actual carrier location no UPS stores etc . If you pack it so it doesn’t rattle and look like a couple boxes of ammo , you can easily ship, it , but just know the risks . Last ammo I shipped to a guy here ,was “ trailer parts “ no rattle ,box three times the size of ammo .

Friends up from FLA, he’s a big fisherman , so I got my buddy Joe to take us out tomorrow. I’m not much of a fisherman, but I did take the occasion to buy a new watch, from Hook and Gaff , a sport fishing watch ,I can set the high and low tides ! I have one pole , I think you guys call them rods ? And three Mitchell 300, and 300a .

Sometimes I take way more then we eat , as part of my , “ Larry helping feed the poor hunters program .” Last year of course that was reversed .

Where I go it’s 8 box limit per day, two each of handgun, center fire , rim fire and shotgun . Today I only bought 5 , 2 300blk, 2 Hornady SST 20 ga , 1 .380 ball , really was after more 7mm08, but they didn’t have any today . Their ammo tends to run more towards tactical and law enforcement use then hunting . Also my buddy wanted accutips , 20ga, I’m reading that they have been very hard to find for sometime and Remington may have sold off that line to Federal ?

The trend is somewhat spotty some are finding a bit here and there . A recent marketing survey says the majority of gun owners still want to build up, their supplies considerably, when most would buy two boxes a year and now want ten to twenty it’s going to take awhile , we’ll never see prices like in the past . Where I buy 9mm ball is $21 a box , double what it was not long ago but I guess cheap today .

I prefer the club section ,with its bigger padded seats and exclusive access to better bars and food ,and the ability to watch from inside if it rains ,but these prices are hard to pass. Pretty good seats too !

Gun shops will pay you 50% of what they think they can sell it for , auction takes 20% .

I sold a bunch through an auction house , they take 20%, well worth it for me . Don’t have to deal with the tire kickers , no shows , going to a gun dealer to do the background checks . I brought them the guns ,a bit later I got a check . They do all the paperwork, marketing etc .

Idk I might go everyday for the right cheeseburger !

Lunch then a private wine tasting and tour, then a drive to the vineyards and the owners home . Not a wine guy, but I enjoyed it all and bought some stuff .

Ha that’s my trick ! Although I hunt part of a farm that’s off limits to all but myself, I run cameras for security. There’s one lane way in , it’s mowed grass basically with thick brush on each side of the lane , I have a camera on a bend, and I put a Mylar ballon on the opposite side , so when you come around the bend your eyes naturally fall upon the ballon . Fun fact, I took Moog hunting with me , at one point unknown to me he walked out for coffee I believe . So here I am a good month later checking the photos, and I lose my shIt, who’s this guy with a bow ?!?! It took sometime for me to realize .lol

They’re offering beer, burgers and donuts , for a disease that 80% of those hospitalized for were obese, or overweight. American medicine at its finest !

I have a Timothy field they will cross at first and last light, mostly when it’s to dark to shoot it’s nothing they hang in and feed during daylight , except perhaps after a cutting , and wintertime they dig trough the snow for it .

My Dads brother and two young Uncles KIA in the same week , after which he was cut loose from the Army .
