  1. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LXUI5hAxFYI Uncle Ted is out there but his message is clear if you can see through the act..
  2. Quit ten years ago about the worst habit one can pick up .. May as well cut yourself and bleed out slowly ..
  3. Release is really a preference thing or what you are a customed to.. Go to your local shop and try some out ...
  4. I bought Ten acres last year with a smal cabin on it , in bottom of valley with corn fields boarding , all cedar and pines deer love it.. My friend owns a tree nursery and I am going to plant 15 apples trees and 5 pear trees that are already bearing fruit and are 8 to 10 feet tall. My cabin has power going to insulate and make so me and the wife can go and spend the night .. Need to build a outhouse and anout a million other things but it's nice to know I have a spot of my own.. Nothing but time to make it better
  5. Everybody has different goals every year one of mine is to take a deer with my bow , buck or doe... Second is to take one with my gun, same as bow buck or doe mature or not .. Sometimes they are mature , sometimes they are not.. Some of my fondest memories are not the size of the rack or doe but the experience or adventure or company I was with.. The Crossbow is a great tool, I have a lot of spots where I hunt that are very difficult to bow hunt, that the crossbow makes a great tool... I will always use the bow until I can't physically use it , but like being able to use the crossbow now when it's alowed.. If it's becomes all game with the crossbow so be it, I just really believe people think these weapons are a small gun for some reason... JHMO
  6. Nothing wrong with crossbow just like I said people need to learn how to use them.. Just cause you can shoot the yardage ,, the target will move .. It's not a gun .. It's still a primitive weapon you will learn when you call your friends I got the big one made a good shot .. Ops I thought I did ..he was only 45 yards ... Whatever live and learn
  7. Bow has always been a up close sport. I think people have the perception that the X bow is some mythical weapon with great long range capibilitys.. I can shoot with 50 yards in my back yard with my Matthews bow , but would never take a shot on a animal in the field at that range ... If used properly it does take some of the challenge out of bow hunting..JMHO
  8. Are they game calzones ??? The sausage part ??? Or just a fluff thread "strate" on a hunting forum????
  9. That's why they call it ice fishing ??? If this was deer season you would be out there??? Then it would be called deer freezing before your shooting !!! LOL
  10. If I have enough tags , I will take them all.. It breaks my heart to split up the family...
  11. 240 days till bow season ..... Someone will win ... It's not the Steelers so who cares
  12. I thought I read somewhere ,,, that a spike is usually a late born buck being conceived in the later rut ... I also remember reading that it actually takes that same spike a extra year to reach the same potential that a early born six of the same age to develop his rack size .. I know this is not true for all circumstances.. But as I understand it its would be better from a hunters standpoint looking for rack development to take a spike rather than a six... All in all the ARs would save a population of the 1.5 bucks and I think that would be the DECs goal???
  13. 1.5 2.5 4.5. Or tag soup ???? Really,,,,, this thread is way off track.
  14. That's the smartest statement made on this board yet ... I totally agree...
  15. I have been hunting successfully for the better part of 25 years ,, I have a garage wall of all the racks that I have taken over the years ,,, spike horns , one side Clyde , forks , six points etc... I can look at each one of those and remember the place ,time and property also the people or hunting story that goes with each one ...I have let 1 1/2 walk and have got all bent out of shape trying to shoot one ... Hunting is such a personal experience that to say shooting of a spike 1 1/2 old deer is so easy,,, is just wrong,,,, hunting and what is considered a trophy is done only by the person hunting..
  16. Seems like I have seen part of this before ??? Like where the eyes are in the background ??? Did you post something similar before .. I Can't rember but it seemed very familiar to me watching this for some reason..
  17. Wishing all a great New Year !!!! WOW 2015 time flies !!!!! Enjoy , Happy hunting , and good health to all....
  18. http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/AMM-8113 It should be on the ballistics of the type you buy .. This says 7-15 yards?? Here's lightfields different versions http://www.litfld.com/products/home-defense/
  19. My point was that the concept is a valid one that has a useful purpose.... It doesn't surprise me that the company is out of business , when the product can be made from stuff laying around your house , and put together by anybody with half a brain... That's not a get rich product..
