I've been using Spitfire 100 grain mechanicals for as long as I can remember, they fly exactly the same as field tips, exactly , no need to put one in a target... Mechanicals are expensive, and I have never had one not do the job but , sometimes cannot reuse after a kill..Spitfire doesn't have those stupid rubber bands which get messed up in your quiver.. Wouldn't hunt with anything else.. 1 1/2 cutting diameter ...can't wait to get out there and stick another one this year....

A mature buck in the heat if the rut is not a smart animal.. A least the ones I have shot.. I have had 1.5 year outwit me plenty of times, put their nose into play and they smarten up ..

Hes not the one breaking the rules... Put notes in bags on their stands with your information and that they are to be removed if not removed, leave another note on the tree, then leave a number to the nearest police station where they can pick them up..Warn them once after getting their information ,Car plate number, bag tag # name whatever you can then call the police as many times as it takes... Criminal trespass is a no joke crime.. It will stop if you put in the effort and the property is worth it to you, sad how people trespass with no regard...

Maybe the best way to describe it would be, when you are young you feel invincible, as you grow older , you learn your not !!! You learn choose and make smarter decisions for yourself, ... Your right ,the odds are slim if at all, of getting shot but when you have slugs come through the woods in your direction you mindset may also be changed... Personally not taking the chance...

Been there!!!! Will not drive deer anymore or hunt anything but private property,, Still wearing blaze orange ... To many drunken in the AM, no experience, brown its down, no regard for anything, I got a deer people still out there.. Sad to say

They make foot warmers they are self adhesive to the bottom of your sock?????Then another pair of socks and you are good to go..

In summary 2 weeks ago, hour and a half before sunrise, flash light waving for a HOUR , on a Wensday afternoon... If the said two guys were out and in the woods a hour and half before sunrise looking for the deer they shot, they sure sound like they did the ethical thing.. Im just wondering how early do you have to check parking spaces to see if anyone is hunting before tracking your deer. If this is still bothering you after 2 weeks ??? Im with Bubba what kind of sandwich ?? Sound like a BS one..

Im not sure about him jumping that fence??? But I have personally seen a mature buck jump a 6 fence standing broadside next to it , he scrapped his belly on the way over,, the 4 point that was with him, wasnt even thinking of trying it and ran for the hole in the fence a few hundred yards away..

I know we all live all over the state but in my area there is alot better things for law enforcment to be doing than looking for someone selling meat.. Tax and tag dollars hard at work..

As a general rule when I bow hunt and shoot a deer if I dont see it drop, I leave the woods for a hour after marking the blood trail.. Give the deer and yourself sometime to calm down and think about a game plan and your shot.. Sorry about your deer probably safe to say we have all been there..
