Feasts menu? We decided on ham this year. We will have shrimp,veggie platter, cheese and crackers to start..and the poppers I made and froze..French onion soup. Tossed salad.baked potatoes with toppings, sour cream, fresh chives and bacon bits,green beans. What desert our daughter brings..

Delivery people...Then the internet arrived and shopping on line..I still won't tip FedX.... man they are a disaster...sorry but mine really is. My UPS guy gets a Christmas tip..I know they get payed fairly well ..but I also know he puts up with a lot...For one thing the pot holes in our long dirt drive( the whole "shoe maker with no shoes" thing) and having to maneuver between two big maples ...But he is here a lot ,nearly every single day in Dec....Gives me deer sighting tips ...lets me know who got what deer in the area ect...ect...The mail people get tips depending...lately they keep putting new ones on so I do not know how well they will do...Then again a good tip could help

I thought for some reason it was only 4-5 days...I see it ends the 20th...I think I will get another chance...I have the first round of jerky done and the hams to do.....Jerky turned out good..a bourbon/cider recipe...but may have dried it a bit further than planned...I fell asleep and the time was still on for the full length. I like it very chewy the others not so much. I had started it in the oven for an hour to get the temp up to 170 before using the dehydrator which usually only hits 155...Though it's suppose to go to 160...A big Cabelas one..

That statement is showing you are more clueless than I originally estimated... Anyone that knows an out of control woman's temperament, should be a dang sight more concerned than if they were dealing with a man under the same circumstance. That woman would not have displayed a flight over fight response...I worked as a bartender and manager for many years...The only fights and confrontations any of us ever feared were woman brawls or ones with woman involved. I watched a mans entire right cheek of his face torn off by a womans bite in one such New years eve brawl...and it wasn't even 9:30 pm. I testified in front of a grand jury on that one..of all the physical damage done to various people...It was the woman involved that did it...We are talking a small country night club...

Actually... It would go under menacing and you have the fact she didn't enter with JUST a weapon...She entered agitated, screaming profanity, with AMMO in sight in her hands....by the account... Now it was told a phone call went to the gun shop clerk that she had entered with out checking the rifle...I have to wonder if the person that first saw her, didn't see the ammo as well, and feared for their personal safety(they do not pay these people enough to get injured or killed on the job). Then decided to call instead of confront them. That falls clearly under menacing definition. Now you can top that with verbal threats telling them if they were afraid on the phone just wait......

Just some questions...when sighting in the scope did you sight in close or at a hundred yards for center/zero..how ever you guys say it? Have you shot that close since sighting it in? You said she was looking at you..even at that range could she have dropped just at the shot? You mentioned you reminded yourself to squeeze the trigger...could you have done that a tad too hard? I know when I had the miss on the 10, due to his snorting, he spotted me turning for the shot or I'd spooked that fawn when I moved. I know he dropped loading his legs...he then jumped into the open broad side but the second he hit was dropping again to make that sharp rt turn. I having to get on him, know I pulled the trigger..that always takes my shots a bit high and for some strange reason...don't ask me why but to the rt...I think I miss spoke in another post I'm left handed gun and right with the bow. Point is it could have been a combo of trigger pull and her dropping... Things to keep us up at night thinking..... A thought...could you have leaned down on your stock at the shot causing the barrel to rise?

Great sit..not a deer seen but I have to say cold!,windy!Christmas snow making me look like a Snowmabs. All that and it was the most relaxing sit I've had all season...just sitting back in a stand I haven't used this year enjoying the winter beauty of our land. A few shots heard and several that very last minute of the season. In the most part,deer beat me this season...That's what makes hunting worth coming back to for me...knowing you can't win every game...If you could,why bother.
