  1. OMG...I do not have to cook!...I just sent Mr B off with half our hard goods...a bunch of refrigerator goods and a big vacuum packed bag of fresh deer chops for him and the boys to eat. Aaaaahhh this is my only vacation time I'm going to make a salad...fix myself a drink and soak in a hot tub of water......after I get all my gun hunting gear re washed dried and out side....
  2. I'm glad I have the blind on top...
  3. injected...but the traffic alone has sent a bunch of big boys down here already...Then you have a connection of woods from them down here and from the neighbor across from that big middle field they are doing connects to us...and they were had an accident and tore up their shoulder...so I'm not too sure if that property will see much or any action opening week end...they refused to hunt it last year to avoid pushing deer to the neighboring properties. Not me but the guys on their other 3 sides......They have had years of problems with trespassing and being nearly shot by them...they had John Hill on speed dial...lol
  4. They are up there on that big middl of woods field right now they should be there well into dark...I really shouldn't find this delightful...but I can't help it...The deer will either move here across the street to the santuary next to me or clean over to the east side of hill and that little valley..the trucks are no longer using our road...they are using the east valley road then right past the lease camp and up the farmer road to field
  5. I found the answer to my question.....I think the last two maybe 2 different bucks...ya think I should sit that stand? or go with old faithful?
  6. Oh boy my buck was loaded with engorged ticks and many live running deer lice....I'm still scratching...and when I ripped out his esophagus the out side of it was coated with many nodules that reminded me of deer droppings encased in membranes.. Never seen that ever before.
  7. I shouldn't do this but....Deerthug...Now all we have to worry /hear about it is Obama's wife running in 4 years..I won't speak her name...had a bigger dislike for her than him On a brighter note have a great , safe, productive hunt!
  8. We had a dinner...opening lunch and dinner were interesting and packed in Piffard...heads and legs hanging every which way...and once a Goat! No not an urban legion these things really happened...lol
  9. Lol...Eddie that was to country...jus t a bunch of responses happened between my starting the post and trying to fix Kindle' s version of what I typed....looks like your in a great spot though.
  10. I am now wondering what this will do to movement...They have been here 21/2 solid days injecting manure in 100acres. I've lost count on the # of tankers that have come to refill the spreader. One field boarders us...but all surround the lease guys camp... all The traffic on the farm road alone could Change things up...hope it keeps them down this way and across the street.Thank heavens they started next to us first...They haven't even got to the big upper field in the middle of the leases woods yet. Thinking they aren't too happy with the his timing...being out of state guys
  11. You'd best get there really really early opening morning. Drop them today guys...good luck.
  12. Congrats! Nicely done and you called him in to boot...
  13. Well right there is the biggest problem with trespassers...They always seem to have an " I thought" going around in their little brains.... LOL
  14. A local guy down the road a bit...he does it every year if not there then Tell-Em-- Where you Got it...it's a shop in Wayland NY...Depends on year and size I've gotten between 1-5 dollars before. It's on the way to shopping so not out gas and ,Hey it's a scratch off or 2
  15. Well "I" will be clearly seen in all of my blinds and at least one area of woods. The wind will dictate where my gun and I will be. One never knows where I actually am . I Never make the correct choice opening morning anyways...lol
  16. Sending out as much luck as I can muster...hope to see you all on the boards today/ tomorrow.. I got him quartered ..Will do some packing this morning and the boys are in rib heaven right now...I will sell the hide when I go grocery shopping today...it' s been a while ..but I'm still picking things from that garden! We had fresh Swiss chard and Brussels sprouts the other night and broccoli the night before...lol
  17. Still out of likes ,due to everyone's generous congratulations. Again thank you all and best of luck to everyone the next 2 days and the gun season.
  18. I shot a 7 pt. Just to put it down for I thought he had an arrow sticking straight up between his shoulder blades. Turns out he had been hit by a car and it was one of his ribs..I took him to the region 8 office and got a new tag....infections aren't just at the sight always..they can run through the blood stream around d the body....his was nasty. A point on blood trails...I never "tracked" my bow deer from yesterday. I watched him carefully then went to where I'd last seen him. That said,I did back track his trail. This taught me a few things on what I thought I saw. Also the fact it was a dang good thing I watched him carefully.double lung and he didn't leave but a couple of specks for the first 100 . Ft...then the fawns messed up another 100ft...tracking him could have been a tad difficult. Then even when I knew where he was...trying to circle to the front of him to make sure he was dead, from a distance..I lost visual 3 times. Even after gutting him then returning with the Gator...he was hard to spot...it really is amazing how a wood lot can " gobble " up a downed deer.
  19. Opening day...a lot of running deer...as time progresses, a lot or a sneaky deer. Now as far as buck go...it depends on intensity of the rut. Buck will still be out seeking.
  20. Great for the truck..My Gator is very high but a dump bed. I bring a long length of poly rope. I park Gator in front of a tree. Take the rope and tie it high in the tree and throw it over hood/ roll bars to dump bed. Raise the bed tail gate down. Tie rope around neck and front legs of deer. Position deer head as far up bed as I can, then hop in Gator and slowly back up. Getting out every couple of feet to check deer position until it's completely up in the bed.I then lift bed up.
