  1. With all of the new diseases coming out of this whole tick thing..Why are we not seeing the government trying to get rid of the problem instead of having humans coating them selves in chemicals and still getting infected...How epidemic does this have to get ,over whelming the insurance and medical profession before they start addressing the actual source, where it lives. Is there something going on in that area? They want to do foolish things to deer like sterilization...What a colossal waste of tax payers money for an animal who's wild life expectancy is just a few years, thanks to modern life happening around them. Why are they not allowing stations to attract the animals, most warm blooded animals, to ingest tick killing or reproductive inhibiting meds. Isn't that what we give our domestic animals, the farm livestock? Especially in the worst areas..Which they have taken the effort to map out...why isn't there a push for legislators to look into this instead of antler restrictions,ect,ect....Is there anyone out there really questioning this?
  2. Oh lets see if I can dodge the "Rath of Rob" on this.. I thought I saw guys from that area on here...No ones heard of this farm..or I have the name wrong? Out of business? Seeing cherry season is upon us soon, I was looking for fresh cherry juice makers. Mr B drinks a lot of organic pure cherry juice and I was looking into local sources..
  3. I always plant flowers near...The wild hive tend to swarm this time of year breaking off to make a new hive with a new surviving queen...it is why bee keepers keep empty hives to catch the over flows. wild bees are looking for a new home...Unfortunately I found out our new local bee keeper created his hives by catching wild swarms ...he lost a couple in the winter and then moved 4 of them out of the area... Personally I think there should be regulations on this but there are not. I'm now relying on my local bumble bees and other pollen collectors eaters.
  4. This thread is great I love seeing people that can see the value in what others don't have a need for any more...I actually know someone that started their own side income reselling the things they find on "trash"day in high income neighbor hoods. I know that in real-estate There are business that make a good profit cleaning " repos " just for the remains of walk away's. It's amazing then you have construction...Wow that can be amazing depending on types and remodels...Son got beautiful cabinets because people had the money to buy new for just the style..that and near new appliances ,for 1/10 of cost new...but even those things can be had for free a lot of the time...
  5. You shy guy you...no #...Well you enjoy your day and may you have a healthy and happy year
  6. Man what a differences a summer of eating does to their appearance!
  7. Chicory is actually a great plant, though they do need to get use to it and it does bolt in heat making it less palatable. I know it's not as shade tolerant as some things and PH well that varies..mine has done OK...This link is very detailed in it's description: https://www.qdma.com/food-plot-species-profile-chicory/
  8. When I was a kid,9 I think I found a $50.00 bill...My mom made me turn it in to the police lost and found...yep they gladly excepted that ! No they never got back to us...She was way too honest a person...God rest her soul...lol Big into teaching right and wrong and being a good person...Such different times. I can't imagine bothering to go to the police "lost and found" if I lost anything...Do they even have such a thing these days?
  9. I wish I could spray, the fruit flies have already hit the developing friut and the worms are chewing up the leafs. Leaf curl and fire blight are strong this year. I did spray early but rain every single day..raining now after a heavy fog had rolled in for hours earlier. Rain and high winds at the wrong times in spring are a fruit growing PITA.
  10. For one thing only you got worked up Rob...I just made a statement to get people to try and connect back to the real subject, not a bloated deer, which may have derailed the post UNINTENTIONALLY. Why did you feel you had to get worked up and just rant about me? Thats rhetorical I could actually care less.
  11. Google it...funny coincidence..."select 716"...ha ...send that picture perhaps you could get some bats...explain the coincidence..... Though in this day and age they could hit you with a copy right issue
  12. I was curious about the jerseys so I Googled Select 716..a bat company came up.
  13. Hhhmmm talking to myself today I see...No one ever makes good finds along the road on your drives ..well except Tf and his bloated deer.. brother in- law found solid oak with beveled glass doors 7ft book cases in Rochester..bikes..exercise benches, push spreaders..
  14. The thunderstorms are keeping me from everything else so I figured I'd get some tree cutting done...Manage 6 cut, limbed and put up on the log piles and the brush pile fencing before the latest round of storms had me running for the house...Not a fan of sun and thunder...a kid in Avon was killed on a school trip in just such conditions...nice and sunny but close thunder...struck his St Christopher metal around his neck as I recall.. I managed to open up a bit more sun to the new plot and to the future new lane way plot...most tree cutting now will take the trees right across the lane way when dropped so I need to finish that up here very soon. Dang logs full of water so heavy per foot ...my hair is as wet as if I come out of a shower...speaking of which...headed that way now...
  15. hhmmm ....plot is getting traffic but the crows are making bald spots all over it....probably mad I haven't put in corn for them to pluck out
  16. Wow those are some fine bases on what appear to be younger buck...wish I had the minerals in your soils...nice pics...home brew cam?
  17. Gosh I forgot all about those things...Oh they were so very nasty when filled... TF looks like it he was such a character around town good prices though...Or maybe not that would make the link from 2014 not 17 if they are saying 42 yrs I didn't find an O -bit. https://www.geneseo.edu/geneseo_scene/buzzo-music now you have down memory lane him and Aunt cookies (original) sub shop and the Inn Between...good times
  18. I know they are a big processor but do they do any local small sales?
  19. Only if you took her home and ate her TF...if that is the case you may have more of a cast iron stomach than I ever imagined
  20. Congrats...Were they sponsored by a bat company?
  21. Mr B came home Friday with 4 carved and turned well made oak chairs. Not the best finish and the glue job on the joints was a tad rough, but nice solid dinning chairs with a free sign stuck to them... perfect replacements for the old cafeteria chairs that were at camp...Now I have those plastic ones to place in a couple of my brush pile blinds brown seats and chrome legs that I'm going to z-bzrt spray..we have an old can of it. nice for the legs are a continuous loop so no uneven sinking of legs in the dirt. Over the years we've had some really good side of road finds ...have any of you?
  22. The beer can chicken, grated potatoes, broccoli, coleslaw.
