No links what just took place this weekend....reports from people who are friends and family. They were the ones booked in staying there. Not just one persons account.

So this place Feathers Tick n Thyme. BB in Prattsburgh ..The owner repeated entered the guest and wedding couples rooms turning off the air conditioning and did so to the couple the night of their wedding in the night hours ...OMG Who would do that! No one could sleep because of the heat. The venue, the barn was not ventilated and a hot box as older barns can get in the heat of summer..no big fans to reduce the heat..never set up properly... So glad I cancelled our wedding the day the invitations came no regrets on that decision so many years ago...Thank heavens they have an easy going core of friends and relatives that help to keep their day special...shame on the proprietors.. Besides isn't entering rented rooms illegal?...

It's been a while since we had a Mountain Lion thread

That took long enough...obvious a cat from rounded tail tip and length...also the slightest catch of striping in fur, dark grey/black tabby. Thought front shoulder and foot was way funky looking. Look at the width of drive , camera height and the light line of grass seen beyond the body you can tell it's not very tall at all. Plus the diamiter of limbs in front of the cam,as view cam on tree, not the picture...They better worry more about the coyote or fisher thats snatching up pets. Think that reporter ever vCard asked locals if anyone owned or had seen a stray tabby wondering around?...lolI hope the report feels like a putts..and I'm usually open minded about this stuff... -
Thoughts on adding a pond to the property?

Sounds great if you have the proper soil , water intake and a good over flow..remember they are a living breathing thing. They work best with a good air flow over the surface. Oxygen for the fish less chance of algea build up AND lots of skeeters( they dont like moving water). Depth is important..especial for fish but swimmers as well. More deaths happen from diving too shall bodies of water then people know...lost a good freind to that. Do lots of reading on them before hand. -
That certainly makes sense in your area...its mile as a nd miles of corn in all directions.

It didn't flood but no one will be walking in it any time soon. I had found that bag of grain sorghum and decided to spread a 3-4 foot swath the width of the field at the end of hay...That seed is at the very least 5-6 years old and sitting in it's bag and a feed sack on our basement floor...I thought for sure Ir would have been moldy when I checked it..Almost afraid to open the sack...I looked fine...I checked it this morning hoping to walk it into the dirt a bit..I had just top dressed the ground with it before the rain...Well, Well color me surprised to see bunches and bunches of little white tails coming off that seed already. Now to see if it has enough energy to actually make a plant... This will be a succotash area I had spare carrot seed I didn't want to deal with so I tossed it out there...

I went out to the garden an sunk to my ankles...berries too wet to pick to wet to weed So cut trees..man I have a lot of standing dead and diseased maples...and the younger ash are dying back... I cut a few Poplar..of course hung up... and every diseased maple I could find..One of the big ones hung up so they will need winching... Cut tops and did fencing...The clover is coming in very well now and it will get a bit more sun...crow and turkey are hammering it though and raccoon visit often...another small critter I can't figure out...maybe a grey fox?.. It's small. I have a lot more to cut but ran out of fuel, bar oil and the chain needs replacing...I have done a lot of cutting on that chain.... tomorrow night and Sunday is a River over niter ..Mom and dad have a wedding to be in..he is too but I'll pick him up before the reception.... so little will get done this week end...Good the rain is now...lol

yes she can as long as she didn't have her outer wing flight feathers damaged...I will be unstable and awkward the tail is their balance...That said she will need a smaller branch that she can wrap her feet around tightly...wind at night will not be her friend for a couple of months.

You have got to be a politician...Now I suppose that comment was to the posting of a video where dogs allegedly tore a coyote apart..I say that because I didn't click on it to view. Now I LOVE the generalization and the vagueness of the above comment. You wanting All to read into this as the cause being poor, I hate this term, sportsmanship on the hunters for allowing and filming it. Though lets get back to reality in regards to your NYS DEC comment..that was and out of state video I believe. The majority of complaints in a laundry list of them would come down to TRESPASSING not animal cruelty. Now I could possibly be wrong but I'm thinking that is highly doubtful... Though I would concede if you could bring up actual #'s and not vague innuendos.

The weather said 11a.m. storm..then they changed it to 1pm...Well when the rain hit as I picked strawberries I knew it was over...I did get 1/4 of them picked...6 cups hulled and quartered for a rhubarb- strawberry pie I'm putting in the oven. this is the first real picking...I've gotten about a quart just checking them before I had to spray...A nice soaking bath in vinegar and a few rinses cleans any residue off the berries...same for all the fruit I have to bug spray. acidic vinegar is a great cleaner for everything.....Lost that 2 hrs I thought I had but did get butter beans ,several rows of beets collards and weeding done. I also found a rather old bag of grain sorghum in the basement...so I dragged it out and decided that the small area at the end of the hay test plot would be a good test for viability...I also got sick of the bluejay hovering over my garden///wonder how much corn is left and I scattered a whole bunch of it on untilled ground to get them away from the food garden...That worked.. never raked or dragged so I'm thinking not much will come of it either germination due to age or soil cover...rained but not too hard this time around ...enough to ...get us a pie..Alls good

I have successfully grown much much less then that.. it depends on if they have ever experienced them andwhat is planted around and in them...for example plant a very fast growing plant thatvwill protect them... I have used buckwhest for this and sudan grass. Watch the amounts though. Also surrounding the beans with clovers sorghums buckwheat alfalfa. Scare crows moved around and or flashing road contruction lights.

Look how blue that is!!!! -
Was planted this a.m. I dragged the field after liming late yesterday...I put a whole bunch of stray old flower seed in the front by the fencing...I added med. red and balansa clover to the hay mix and seeded most of what I had disced and limed...I will add a bit of alfalfa on the high dry side along the tree line...I may roll it in..may not we are due for a few thunder storms over the next few days so that should do the job...This is a rich muck type soil so I won't worry about fertilizing until several inches of growth appear... besides This is the spring /fall flood zone...If we get hit hard with storms I'm not sure how well the seed will do if the water stands for a few days... The lane-ways are next..I haven't even mowed the big fields weeds and stalks yet... Ya what am I doing on the PC then...well yesterday, hands full, I took a header in my kitchen... boots tangled in rug then each other...want to guess what broke the fall...yep...both my bad knees...Mr B about freaked when I said how swollen do you think they are... Weren't bad this morning until I took 3 40 # bags of lime and a 55# bag of dog food out of the trunk and carried to the house...So I'm on a work, swell, elevate regimen...OH could have been worse...nearly clocked my forehead on our stove on the way down...bumbles do not bounce...

Larry, he has so many cows and now calves, that is gone by the time they start harvesting...he also had a huge wall of giant square bales he stored next to it last year. That was a first ,plus all of the original small bunkers they started out with. He has built 3 large barns over the last 5 years. Spreads manure in 3 different counties and several different towns. -
Already been to town and back...ironed... picked rocks...pulled cam cards. I'm sure ticked off 1-2 people with a posting, and now on second cup before hitting the garden and planting that hay seed on the "test" areas...

Before tossing out more stones from your glass house ....Let me ask, these anti -hunter fodder post you inference would also include your little ditty which: 1. started this off pretty well 2. lets be reminded you say killing them ALL was in reference to the slaughter of newborn fawns So your deer damage is more important than anyone else coyote damage ? Rhetorical question just pointing out that you might want to step down from that soap box....
