  1. CabinFever, I'm right there with you and the Buck Fever, before I got my shot off at my buck Friday morning, it took me 3 tries to get my bow pulled back...thought I wasn't going to even get it back in time for a shot! But I love that, after 35 yrs I still get that adrenaline rush...LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR! You'll get another chance...Good Luck!
  2. Finally able to upload pic of the buck I got on 11/9. Main frame 10Pt with a 1" kicker off one of his bases making him actually an 11Pt! This is the buck that I've called my #1 from trail cam videos and posted a trail cam pic of him in velvet from August. I almost had a shot at him on 11/7, drew back bow on him on 11/7 @ 30 yards but couldn't get a clear shot before he bolted away after a doe...he was walking directly at me at about 40 yards and then was broadside at 30 yards behind a tree, of course with his head sticking out of 1 side and his back end sticking out of the other side while the doe was about 25 yards from me. Then she bounded away taking him with her ... tried grunting and some doe bleats but to no avail, so no shot that day. Then he came through cruising alone on 11/9 and offered a clear shot @ 28 yards!
  3. Had some success! Got that 10Pt that's been on my trail cams and that I drew back @ 30 yds on Wednesday but couldn't get a clear shot before he bolted after a doe. Turns out he's actually an 11Pt with a 1" kicker off of one of his bases. When I tried to upload a pic, the site won't allow me too. I keep getting this message saying, you're only allowed 337kb. Any idea why the site won't allow me to upload one pic.
  4. I had a group of 3 coyote come by right at dusk, and I could just make out their outline. One was checking out my mock scrape and they moved on. About 15 minutes ago, I had a d oe with a yearling come by being trailed by a spike. All three crossed the path that the coyotes left.
  5. Ya, I had actually packed in a lunch with me because I had already planned all day sits here today and tomorrow. So far no others have showed up, but we'll see!
  6. Funny, you say that, this year my #2 is a nice wide 9Pt with one double brow...but I'd take that 12 ... LOL
  7. I'm prob going to regret this but I passed on a decent 8 at just under 30 yds...If I didn't see that 10 in the area earlier, I would have shot the 8. I'm second guessing that decision real hard right now. I think that lead doe the 10Pt was with was in heat or getting close. That 8Pt was sniffing all around where she was standing and ended up heading off in the direction she went...I think a good sign that the rut is finally turning on.
  8. Ahhh man, I want to cry ... drew back my bow on my #1, big 10pt ... 30 yds and couldnt get a clear shot off before he took off after a doe...Man, that's the 1st time I've laid eyes on him this year ... he's put on some good mass and some height from last year! Cams only had him in velvet...now he's out of velvet ... thick, tall, tanish colored rack. He came in grunting behind 3 doe.
  9. So, on my way to my tree stand I catch movement in the woods ahead of me. I stalked up to it and it's a medium sized 8Pt. I got to within bow range (about 30 yds) and he was a little smaller than I'm looking for so I passed on the shot. Pretty cool and exciting...Glad that I rake the trails through the woods and into my stands before the season for quieter access....between that and the leaves being wet, he had no idea that I was there and eventuakly walked off. Now, so far nothing seen from in the stand.
  10. Working this AM, hoping to be out on time for a PM hunt. Good luck to all heading out. Hunt hard, hunt ethical, hunt safe, and have fun!
  11. Good luck guys from a jealous southern zoner! Looking forward to seeing some harvest pics.
  12. 9Pt as #2 on the hit list so far. Picture is from 8/9/18 so he had some growing time left too.
  13. Finally had a chance to put up my new ladder stand and to check out my trail cams. So far this guy finds himself as #1 on my hit list, we'll see if he cooperates with that this season! The pic is dated 8/18/18, so he still had a couple weeks of growing time and I am happy that he was out during daylight. There is a decent 9Pt as runner up in the #2 spot followed by a couple decent 8Pts.
  14. Update: I ended up selecting the Polaris Sporsman 570 in Camo with a winch and hitch as suggested. Had the new toy out this weekend checking trail cams...great ride. Thanks again for all the advice!
  15. Hauling in ladder stands, etc. and hopefully hauling out deer. Eventually some food plot work Property and trail maintenance / hauling equipment like chain saw, etc. Some trail riding
  16. I'm in the market for an ATV, planning to get one within the next couple weeks. What are some of the must have basic features and some of the nice extra features when choosing an ATV now a days? Thanks for any info in advance!
  17. That is pretty cool. I've never seen a buck lose a drop tine from one year to the next. What would cause that to happen?
  18. So sorry for your loss. Prayers sent for you and your family.
  19. Thanks guys. I was actually subpoenaed for Jury Duty starting today for a week but when I called last night the case that I was supposed to be a juror on was cancelled from the docket so I didn't have to appear. No fishing today, just hanging out with a group of friends from the gym tonight. Philo, I was hoping to make it but my weekend got jammed up with a bunch of stuff, so most likely won't be able to make it on Sunday. Next one hopefully.
