Wow, what a bruiser! Good luck with him!

Was hanging out with a group of friends at Sodus Bay on 7/15/18, the girls all wanted to hang out at Chimney Bluffs and at the Sand Bar so that's what we did for the majority of the day but I managed to get in about 30 - 45 minutes of fishing in between and caught this Largemouth Bass...4.65 Pounds!

I've been involved in a number of vehicle pursuits and the adrenaline without shots being fired is topped out trying to stay watchful and cautious to ensure no innocent bystanders get mixed up in the mayhem because the bad guy certainly doesn't care about other casualties. Thank God none of the pursuits that I was involved in included shots being fired during the pursuit. Great job by LE with no officers or bystanders getting hurt.

Love tossing the rubber frog along the top of that stuff. For this one I was fishing a Texas Rigged PowerWorm along weed opening edges and he pulled my kayak right into the thick of it.
-
Put in some time on the kayak yesterday afternoon. They were hammering the PowerWorm Texas Rigged; Caught 5 Largemouths, lost two and had three good hits with no hook set. This one was the biggest. No scale with me but I'm guessing over 5 pounds...he was a fatty for sure! The pics selfie style don't do him any justice....It never fails, you catch the big one when you're alone and nobody to take a decent pic. Two others over 2 pounds and two other smaller ones

I forgot to add, all 7 Largemouth and the pike were all catch & release.

A few from yesterday...All in all a good afternoon on the water. Ended up getting 7 largemouth and a pike into the kayak! They were hammering spinner baits and Strike King swimbaits. Lost 3 that spit the hook by the kayak and another break my line by the kayak.

Might be able to make this one!

I remember the first time I set us up in stuff like that she looked at me like I had 3 heads...I told her just trust me. After the first top water smash she was hooked...now that's been her favorite way to fish ever since.

We were tossing Texas rigged PowerWorms through openings in the weeds and top water frogs.

LOL ... that's OK TF.

We'll be concentrating on Largemouths and Pike

And another one!

My oldest daughter and I will be fishing Sunday morning out of the kayaks for Father's Day. Looking forward to another one of our fishing outings! Here's a pic from one of our outings last year!

A good weekend for a nice variety of fish...I ended up catching 14 Largemouth, 2 Smallmouth, 2 Pike, and a Perch. All catch and release except for some perch. They became perch tacos Tuesday night!

The morning started off with some gobbles from on roost, sounding like at least two gobblers in the area. As shooting time arrived I did some soft tree yelps that I eventually followed up with two fly down cackles. We exchanged some yelps and gobbles back and forth throughout the first hour of the morning but they were a no show sticking to the hens that I can hear with them. I tried aggravated the hens with my calling trying to be louder than them and cutting off their calls but to no avail as eventually the hens and gobblers calls became fainter and fainter. Doing sporadic yelps and cuts throughout the morning, some gobbles were finally thrown back at me a little after 8:00, from the direction the gobblers had walked off with the hens. They were coming back looking for the amorous hen they heard in the area earlier. However they eventually walked back along their same trail, within hearing distance but still out of sight and eventually walked out of the area again. So, I decided to move along the pond and down along the edge of some pines to get me closer to the area they had moved through. I couldn't go into the area that they were moving through as this was posted property to the north of my property so I sat along the pines on my side hoping to pull them onto my property. Once in position, I let out some yelps that were immediately answered with some gobbles. By sound, I guessed that they were within a couple hundred yards of my set up. My next set of yelps were answered with additional gobbles confirming that they were closing the distance. Eventually I saw four turkeys heading my way but they hung up on the posted property about eighty yards away. I could now see that they were four jakes and they were gobbling their heads off...that is such an awesome sound in the spring woods. Well, I decided that I was going to pass on the jakes but wanted to see if I can still call them into my set up and started playing with them. I was throwing yelps and cuts at them, enjoying the show listening to these four jakes gobbling like mad in quartet fashion. Eventually they worked their way into about 25 - 30 yards of me and now in view of them, I couldn't use my slate without them seeing the movement. So they just stood there looking for the hen that was teasing them so bad. They were so hot and bothered that they were gobbling at any bird sound or other sound in the woods ... an amazing show! After about 3 or so minutes of not seeing the hen that should be there, they started to slowly wander off. After they moved through some thick brush and trees as they walked away out of range, I started to second guess passing on them, remembering striking out last year. I thought that I should have taken one of the jakes and then hold out for a chance at a long beard the rest of the season. So, I grabbed my pot call again, now that my movement was shielded by brush and trees. I let out some yelps and cuts that were immediately cut off by a quartet of gobbles again. I let out a few more yelps and some cuts that the quartet immediately gobbled to and I put down the pot call and readied my gun. Low and behold they were coming back again looking for this disappearing hen. I steadied my bead on one of the jakes' head and ended up dropping him in his tracks at about 30 yards. What an exciting awesome morning. Now to find one of them long beards! Good luck all!

Great job to all the youths! No luck but had a great time with my little cousin. Called in 5 hens but no gobblers were looking to play with us today.

I'm heading down to camp in a couple hours. We'll be taking my little cousin out tomorrow morning for the youth turkey hunt...I can't wait and boy is he excited! Good luck to all the youth turkey hunter's this coming weekend!

I'll take the map and compass handbook if still available, plus will pay what you think is fair.

It's the mouth of Bear Creek at Lake Ontario

LOL, it actually looks worse than what it is, really not heavy at all and I like the versatility of multiple different sounding pots. On more than one occasion I've had them not turned on by the sound of one pot but then the different tone of another pot will fire one up.

I don't use a turkey vest. Instead I use a camo back pack. Plus I attach a multi pocketed waist pouch and a cushion seat to the backpack. Works good for me as I can put my two turkey decoys in the back pack's main compartment and have the rest of the back pack and the waist pouch pockets for the rest of my gear. Here's a pic of what's loaded into the back pack and pouch.

Yep, fever burning bad here too. Have already been through all my turkey hunting gear a few times and have been working the calls for a few weeks now. Been through all my fishing gear countless times too...which is dangerous because I just keep hitting the store and adding to it. Have started hitting the spring trout run so easing the fever a little bit (Caught a decent 6 - 7 pound brown Friday after work) but my true fishing passion is tossing line for pike and bass...So, yes the fever keeps burning here too!
