  1. I don't think we are asleep at the wheel. But there are so many people saying so many different things on here. And the legislation so difficult to read you need a law degree to understand it. I only started this post because someone told me it was now against the law to hand down any fire arm whether it was on the list or not. So just trying to get a little clarification.
  2. If they wrote all this stuff in English people could understand we wouldn't have to wait a year til it is clear
  3. I have a question and am looking for a little help. I believe I read somewhere that you can no longer "will" guns to a family member. So if my dad was to pass away my mom would have to turn his guns in instead of handing them down to us. Is this true? Any help would be great
  4. What about tube fed .22 that is a pump. Is all this legislation just going after a semi auto gun whether it be rifle or pitol
  5. It is sad it has come to this. Hate the fact that certain guns could be banned for the people that currently own them. I don't have an issue with expaned background checks though for private sales and ammo though. I would not want to sell a firearm to some guy and have him commit a crime with it. If a background check is done and he commits a crime, oh well my ass will be covered. And if I have to fill one out for ammo I get to browse around the sporting goods store a little more. No online sales really stink for the guys who shoot a lot and buy in bulk.
  6. My cousins father in law fell from his tree stand just outside Syracuse. Could be same one you are talking about. Lucky he had his harness on. No serious injuries. Just bumps & bruises
  7. I have read about a few of them in the NY game & fish paper. One guys was shot at over 150 yds with a rifle. He was walking through some thick stuff on edge of woods. Had his orange vest inside his camo jacket. Works real well when you do that. Shooter was charged but I don't remember with what as it has been a few weeks since I read it
  8. I completely agree. I'm not trying to sound like I don't. I am just glad my name won't appear on any list.
  9. Unless they have a permit I am surprised law enforcement officers would show up on there. My next door neighbor retired from our village police force last year. I have been talking to him lately about all this gun stuff going on. He told me HD didn't get his pistol permit til right before he retired. Said it would be easier than as a civilian. I was surprised when he told me thatpolice officers don't need permits. My cousin is a county sheriff. He said he doesn't have one either but will be getting his before he retires in a couple of years.
  10. Yeah I figured there would be all kinds of topics and forums on here about his speech. Was really surprised when there wasn't last night when I looked
  11. My brother got his masters in environmental policy from suny esf. He has done a lot of research on this subject. Said if they frack where we hunt in the finger lakes he will never hunt there again. My brother in law asked him why. He told him he would would never want to eat an animal that could have drank any of that water. I can't believe more people haven't said anything about this today
  12. Think about the area you hunt? Would you want it to look like that. I don't want any part of our state to look like that. Especially wouldn't want to hunt an area near there. Wouldn't want to eat an animal that has been drinking from those pools of "storage" water they have around the sites. Really hope people voice a strong NO on this to the state!!
  13. I think everyone who has even thought about fracking should watch stuff like this. Can't believe anyone would want this done to there land. I really hope it is not allowed in NY state. People don't know what they are getting in too

    Bama!

GO BLUE!! I am a Michigan fan too!!!!
  15. I have sent Ithaca a few emails concerning a barrel for my Ithaca model 37. All I can say is they aren't prompt. I have gone days before I get a response from them. And yes they will probably want you to send it back. That is what they tell me. Send us your gun and we will get you a barrel. Lol. Good luck!!!
  16. Article coming out from state soon than the state finds no health risks for fracking. I see this as being a go as far as state is concerned
  17. Unless you check "yes" that you are actual buyer you can not buy the firearm from what the sales guy at bass pro said. They sell them, especially during holidays where people buy them for other people. Guys buying for kids, wives buying for husbands etc. They all check they are buying for themselves. Said the only way you can get in trouble is if you buy for someone that cant buy for themselves!!!
  18. Illegal purchase, that makes me feel real good. As i said i was very forward that this gun was not for me. No one said anything
  19. Thanks for the info landtracdeerhunter! Greatly appreciated!!!
  20. Hello HV315. Shoot me a pm sometime. I too am also layed off. I live about 15 min from chiefs stadium. Maybe we can get together sometime
  21. So if i answered yes to 11as being the actual buyer was i wrong? I was the actual buyer who was buying gun that day, it was just not for me.
  22. I shoot what used to be the old federal classic rifled slug. Now says federal power shok on the box. Product # f127rs. Find much better than the tru ball and the balistics on federals sight show that. I know dicks doesnt carry them at least the one near me. I usualy get them at wally world or herb phillipson's. Best slug i have found for a smoothbore. Wally world sells box of 10, (product # f127rsx) for like $8.97. Cheaper than buying by box of 5
  23. When i bought that gun at bass pro they were well aware that i was buying that gun for my uncle, not for me. I dont remember if there was a "specific" question on background check form i did that pertained to actual ownership of the gun. Ido remember there were questions pertaining to criminal background, domestic disputes, etc.
