I dont have a new phone # for classic gunstocks but I did find there new address. It is: 2285 county rt 7 Oswego ny, 13126

The owner will make you a stock in any type of wood if that us what you want. But he also is a gunsmith. He does great work. Hate to see him move but I will definitely drive to have him work on my guns

The name changed from parker pond to classic gun stocks shortly after george sold the business and retired. I just talked to the new owner last week about having him do some work on one of my guns. He told me they were in the process of moving to a new shop and he was hoping to be in there full time starting yesterday oct 1st. The new shop is located on county rt 7 in oswego. I misplaced the new address or I would put it on here. He did not give me a # though. Will have to check his website so I can call to find out if he is in new shop full time. If he is I am going to bring my gun out friday.

So if I shoot a buck with bow and then have regular season buck tag left I cant shoot a buck with that tag? I didnt know that. Can the regular season buck tag be used in late muzzleloader season?

Sierra Nevada Celebration is my favorite beer. Can't wait for that to come out. I like there Sierra Nevada pale ale too. That is probably my #2 beer but drink that all the time because the celebration is a seasonal. Southern tier has some good beers too

I am going to sign my son up this coming sat for hunters safety class at our local rod and gun club. The course work is going to be done online and then we will go on the 28th for the hands on portion of the class. Has any one done one of these classes before? Is this the same as the one being offered through the DEC website?

My brother has a place up on tug hill. He has talked to some deputies in the sheriffs dept. They drive by there daily so they stop and check it out if they see anyone there. Might be a good idea to get to know the local law enforcement. It will not hurt that is for sure

For the record, I am not the type of person or hunter who is a law breaker. My aunt and uncle told me about all the deer they have been seeing in there yard so I brought my camera over the other day when I stopped to give my uncle a hand with something. I have been to busy to get my stands and cameras up. I do not want people on here to think I am a law breaker and to form a negative opinion. So after reading biz's last comment I called the DEC office and talked with an officer there. I told him what I had done and he informed we it is illegal to feed deer. I agreed with him and again explained to him what I did, the apples were there. He said he would have an issue with this if all apples from the trees had been consumed and I when out and bought more bushels of apples to keep feeding the deer. As far as baiting. He read me the one sentence defination from the hunting regs book. "It is illegal to hunt with the aid of bait or in a baited area when hunting big game, upland game birds, turkey or waterfowl". As long as I don't hunt there, which I can't hunt in the backyard due to the 500 ft discharge of a weapon law he said I am good. So Biz you can pile up the acorns, just as long as you don't hunt over those acorns or in an area that has the big pile. I apologize for the length of this post. I am glad I talked with someone about this and wanted to post this. Again I read this forum daily, but do not post to often. But I don't want people thinking negative when I do post.

I stopped at my uncles today to check out my trail cam I hung on one of his apple trees. Got about 50 pics of a 5 pointer with what looks like 4 pts on the right and one main beam on the left. There is one out there with just horns on the left. I have seen him in the field but have not gotten any pics of him. They are building over 120 homes behind my uncle next year so they will all be shooters this year. But I got 2 pics of this guy and this is the one I am hoping to see come 10/1.

I called some of my assemblyman in the Syracuse area today. All 3 people in there office told me same thing. This was introduced in senate in march. The assembly in june . No action has been taken on it. Was proposed by an assyblyman from the Bronx. The last girl I talked to said she doubts it will go anywhere but is going to have someone from there legislative office call me back this afternoon. Guess I will just keep calling and sending out those emails and letters -
I have been very lucky. I was given an Ithaca deer slayer with a weaver scope from my father about 5 or 6 yrs ago. The scope is probably 30 yrs old or more. But every time I take it out to the range it is about 4 inches high at 50 yds and 2-3 inches low at 100. Have never missed a deer with it. I could not be happier with the gun

Yes you are correct there. My buddy just shot a buck and used tag in his wife's name which is why he got busted. I forgot about being able to sign over the doe permits. -

I am surprised they would grant a certificate to the women who admit to only taking the class so they can get the husbands an extra tag since that is illegal. I had a neighbor who I used to live by that shot a nice 8 pt opening day one year. Dropped it off at processors on way home. The DEC showed up after he left. While he was on the way home they call his house and his wife says she didn't shoot that buck her husband did and used her tag. He lost the deer to the food pantry. Was charged with illegally taking a deer an a couple other things and got like $2k in fines. Surprised they would let them take the class if they admit they aren't there for themselves. -
No idea. I bought a lifetime about 8 years ago. I don't worry about that now, just wait for it to come in the mail. I haven't heard anything about it since they announced there were going to be changes though.

I know that you have to be 12 to get your license and to hunt but do you have to wait until you are 12 to take your hunters safety course? My son just turned 11. Just wondering if he needed to wait until he turned 12 before he took the course or if he is eligible to take it before then? Any info would be great. Thanks -
I live up behind lysander park off Smokey hollow rd. I used to bow hunt some private land around there but I lost permission when the owner had family start hunting it. I will bow hunt the state land occasionally but usually only mid week. To many knuckle heads out there. I do not hunt it during gun specifically for that reason. I do most of my bow hunting now on some land behind my uncles house over in van buren. Going to be putting a housing development behind him next year so will lose that. I do most of my gun hunting in Penn yan. 3 rivers is so convenient at times. Just seems to always be an army out there on the weekends.

I talked to a biologist from the Dec after I posted this. He said they are making some changes in the landscape to benefit the habitat. Going to make suttle changes over the next few years through out the land. Also are not going to "strip mow" anymore. Going to block mow. Some fields will get mowed others won't. Says not mowing all fields will provide more cover for pheasants. Going to try and make nesting areas for ducks and geese around big swamp on sixty rd too. Fletch do you do any hunting around there? I live right around the corner from there also.

I'm just curious if anybody else had seen all the logging and land that has been cleared out at 3 rivers wildlife management area in baldwinsville. An area I hung a stand in last year is now a field. Couldn't believe it when I drove by the other day
