    Field dressing isn't that bad , my buddy scooped up a road kill a couple weeks ago and never touched a deer in his life ,I coached him over the phone ,step by step. The phone call was just under 18 minutes long.

    Im using the wifes explorer this year ,i bought one of those aluminum cargo haulers for the hitch. I'm too worried about getting ticks inside ,I'd feel like a 1st class A-hole if her or my son got a tick on them.

    I might be able to make it ,depending on the date . I usually leave for hunting Friday after work.

    I know the feeling about having good neighbors . We don't own the property ,but we have 90 acres that we have 100 percent freedom to do as we choose . The guy next door used to lease to some real knuckleheads. All the time we would see them walking around off their lease . They always had one wounded they were looking for.

    What exactly IS the youth hunt all about ? I haven't been a youth in awhile and my son is only a toddler still. I guess my question is , is it a gun hunt ? I guess 14 is still bow age . I can't ever remember hearing a gun shot during the youth weekend.

    Saw 4 small bucks and 6 doe. The one doe with fawn in toe was getting mounted by a button buck in one of my shooting lanes . He got down after a few seconds and took a long deep sniff of her behind before the 3 walked away together. The little guys are fun to watch ,they get the slightest tingle down there and just go hog wild.

    I did see a button buck mount a doe with a fawn this morning ,he got down after a couple seconds ,took a long sniff of her back side and the 3 kept on going.

    Every year I say I'm gonna build a box under my stand to stick a heater buddy in there, I never do. I could stay warm and create my own thermal.

    Got an hour from the house and realized I left my license and clothes at home.
