True dat.....
-
Similarly the guy that pays to shoot a deer in an enclosed pen and calls himself a Hunter.........weird huh?
-
I've got more than a couple guns that haven't been shot once in 12 years...... I'm not happy or proud of it. If you can shoot SC 12 times a year I'd highly recommend ponying up the cash, this isn't a rehearsal. Merry Christmas

I’m thinking we need some Vince Lombardi quotes about now. -
I got that call six times today and three times yesterday. It is so freaking frustrating when you get numerous calls daily from customers and suppliers and these assholes tie up my time.

Snow sticking to the branches around home. -
That there is a big statement and totally mirrors my feelings. I butchered my doe from Saturday today (the other was donated to an elderly friend) and the wonderful feeling I have right now for completing that job and putting a third deer in the freezer is unexplained to many. She was a good sized Livingston County doe and I'm thrilled to have her. If I hunt this weekend, I'll hunt Ontario County and could use another doe. We ate four from 2019 (actually I have two packs of back straps left, we'll eat one this week) and would be thrilled to get another for our freezer.

So if he didn't live between you and your neighbor you'd have corked him? Me, I'd be filling out a tag.........

Don’t be too fast with the saw! I paid for the “lower front mandible” and they sent me an envelope with instructions on how to remove the teeth with a knife and pulling by hand. They boned me on that for a crisp $5 bill.....I wasn’t getting a hunk of jaw in their itty bitty envelope. I questioned them on it and they said they were in the process of re writing their sales pitch. Nice...

When are you sending the teeth in?
-
If you had a day during the holiday season, take a ride down to Avon Region 8 Headquarters of the DEC and they might be able to give you a better idea on his age with the teeth. (if you have more interest in it)

Nice Zeek!! -
On what did you base his age at 4.5 the first year you saw him? What'd he weigh?
-
Ya ever see those white dipped Oreo's? They're probably $4 a bag and not too shabby. LOL
-
Happy Birthday Zeek!!

I was talking about the December 14-22 late archery/ML'r season. I believe you said you had to be out by 12/15 so hopefully the pressure of moving out of the old house lets you hit the woods a little then. -

Oh come on, a 223? You really should jump that up to at the very least a 243. -
Had a pretty busy day yesterday. Shot a good adult doe around 8am, she ran the wrong way on her death run. About 60-70 yards into the nastiest of thorn apple/redbrush tangled crap and it was downhill the wrong way. You see, she was on a ridge and of course its a 50-50 shot whether they go north or south. South is bad....... Oh well, I guess I can still drag uphill in the nasty stuff. In the afternoon I had a cold, wet sit for a couple hours before 5 doe & fawn came out on the edge of a field. I looked them over good to assure I didn't shoot a fawn and shot this nice doe. The first one in the morning dressed out at 120lbs and this one 131lbs, both with heart and lungs removed. (inside joke just to stem off the cackles from the Peanut Gallery, lol) I used my 300WSM rifle with 165gr bullets. The first doe was about 100 yards, the second one was about 160. Both were one shot kills....
