  1. In 1976 NYS started a new program for 14 and 15 year olds. I was 15 in '76 and started as a Junior Archer. Started with a Bear Grizzly then and used that without success until about 1980 when I got a Darton SL50. I ended up coming back to traditional bows (both recurves and longbows) from 1987-1999. Killed deer with both types but more with the recurve. At the end of '99 I went back to the compound, still am now. Moog and others will chime in shortly.........
  2. AND TF's buck too.........I can't remember shiit these days. That said, I haven't mentioned anything in public yet about what happened yesterday morning. Embarrassing......
  3. Damn, you're right. Anyway, Tacks buck and Jeremy's were nicer than mine.
  4. This started out as an awards banquet for a select few members that shot bucks this past season. Happily it has evolved into a much bigger get together as I'd be embarrassed to collect the Top Prize again this year...........NOT
  5. The Fat Lady has sung and is in her dressing room eating Bonbons.......... It sure looks like lots of guys scored and a couple ladies too, what more could we ask for? (A safe season and it looks like it was!!)
  6. That’d be a GREAT choice but I don’t think that’s the direction of this thread.
  7. That’s what makes it fun!!!!!
  8. That'll be NEXT Christmas, this Christmas is what we're running with.
  9. I've known many and have always clicked with them. They have always been clean and neat plus good to work for.......... No problem with Subaru from me, I'd take one.
  10. I think you're overdoing it...........
  11. She got me something REALLY nice, a custom knife I picked out. It's already here but I can't open it till the 25th. It is from a collector who died recently and I got onto it on another chat room. A knife maker who quit making knives but is well respected as a student of George Herron. Pics in nine days........... (This is why I'm asking you guys for help)
  12. https://www.spyderco.com/catalog/details.php?product=77 Here you go, you can't ruin a knife with that.
  13. Soooooo, you sharpen kitchen knives/butchering using the back side of another knife and hot water dulls knives faster than regular use? That there is a couple things I didn't know........
  14. Jeez don't let THAT stop you from getting a great knife.
  15. What are you guys doing for gifts for your wife or (not and) girlfriend ?? Christmas is coming soon!! Mine is getting sick of pots, pans etc.......
  16. If you hunt the archery, regular and late season in our zone you've got 79 (SEVENTYNINE) freaking days, GET 'ER DONE ALREADY!!
  17. A novice could really botch an expensive knife with some of the electric sharpening systems out there. Years ago I took some higher end knives to Povinelli to be sharpened. Oh what a mistake.......the don’t hone, they grind.
  18. Good deal, I’m coming for sure. Looking for my coonskin cap now.
  19. Larry- have you tried the diamond sticks for your Spyderco?
