Saturday evening my wife and I stopped at the new (opened in August last year) REI store in Rochester. I had never been in one of there stores and had been mildly interested in seeing what they had to offer. I've been wanting to try a pair of Lowa Renegade GTX boots because I really like the Lowa Tibets I got a while ago and REI had them in my size, in stock according to their web site. Well they had them but one shoe just was a smidge too tight, damn I was disappointed. I wanted them to work, but no way were they going to. The associate that helped me (Cam) went out of his way and couldn't have been nicer. He grabbed some other boots that were similar and one pair fit great; Vasque St Elias. I had a $100 Visa gift card that had been burning a hole in my pocket since xmas.....no more. The rest of the store was interesting but we didn't buy anything else. I did pay the $20 co-op price and got a $20 gift card and will get 10% of the $200 purchase price back next spring, I believe. Nice store but of course they all look nice at your first visit. I wish them well and hope they open one in Buffalo as we miss Eastern Mountain Sports. I'll use the gift card online soon as it expires July 26 I think.

The lid works way better for beer, Manhattans, not so well.

Coleman Extreme............70qt Model. I bought it last fall for stuffing an entire quartered deer in. I couldn’t close the lid on any of my three other 50qt coolers...... This Model has stainless, NOT plastic hinges. It’ll hold an entire deer and the best part is it even holds our large casserole dishes and huge salad bowl (used on Father’s Day) as my others won’t work for that. No DAMNED way a Yeti will do THAT!! They are very reasonably priced too.

This is the half rack 8pt I mentioned. He showed up right in front of me, too close actually. I had a white top on at the time of the shot, matching the pull on pants. It was snowing super hard and just appeared out of nowhere, kind of. I had to slowly pull up the gun, cock the hammer (I had a 50cal Encore at the time) and shoot all in one motion. It worked............

My 300WSM smacks the middle finger on my trigger hand with the trigger guard and it hurts like all get out. I shoot 165gr bullets as they kick less than the bruising 180gr pills.

As noted above, I got it 2nd hand. The previous owner played with it for a few months and couldn’t get it to shoot so sold it. Unfortunately for him, I got it to shoot superbly within probably 20 shots, using two or three different bullets. The above noted Parker’s shot great.

The two bucks already posted were not late season. These two were though plus another half rack 8pt from Arcade. Not sure where that picture went...... Last day in 2016, East Aurora My first ML'r buck and first late season from 2003 (Arcade)

I don't recall ever needing a second shot with this gun but as noted many times by me lately, I could be wrong. Being a lefty and finding a ML'r I'd lusted over for sale used on another forum, I jumped like Michael Jordan for the "Buy It Now" button. No flies on your Encore or all the other great ML'r choices these days.
