This site will be 8 years old in June, I believe................wasn't there another NY site that was similar that folded for some reason, then this one was born? It's been a good run with plenty of great guys (a couple nice gals too) on here. Having met and become very good friends with a pile of the guys I'd say this place has been a winner for me. How about you, have you made friends with many guys in your area or even over across the state? The gathering last year at the 'Goat was a good time and maybe we can do another after they re-open? How about a picnic or something this summer? Wasn't there some talk of that LAST year? Time sure does fly eh?

I don't blame her for bailing on this site. Half the posters on here are nuts lately.......carrying on like little kids. This crap is getting old! It really must be the weather............. Carry on.

Woodies have been buzzing around my work in Clarence for a couple weeks too. Almost (not really) get sick of hearing all the big Canadian Honkers all morning at work too. What I do like is when they come in low and kinda' slow; I pull the imaginary SBE stoked with a stiff load off 3.5" magnum loads and dust 2 and sometimes three birds with one well placed shot. Then I close my eyes and old Jenny comes out of Dog Heaven for the retrieval. Ahh, imaginations and memories are a wonderful thing.........

I traveled from Canadice to Amherst Saturday afternoon and had to see no less than 200 deer. (we can get plenty of antlerless tags in 8N though). I see crazy amounts of deer all the time in Genesee County on Rt 20, say east of Rt 238.......it sure would be nice to hit a couple of those fields for sheds but I'd think it's well picked.

Both pics are the same buck, one is just a closeup.

Sorry they're sideways. I sure wish that I could rotate them correctly.......... Ha, I fixed them in a roundabout way.

This buck was found dead, I photographed it. He is/was a real tall racked buck. Worm food now........:(

I'm just going to reiterate a simple point that I'm SURE was posted earlier.......with a portable generator, you need to be home to run it. It is useless if you are on vacation, could be difficult for your wife to start and if not maintained properly. A "whole house" generator eliminates many of these worries. The fact that they do a self test once a week lessens the chance of it not working when needed. Portable generator is my choice now but I can see someday soon going with the WH unit. YMMV

I killed one in the snow back in the early 90's IIRC. Around May 7th............ It was foggy too!!

This thread is getting a bit strange......................actually it's all the threads lately on the forum. Guys are reading things into posts that I'm not seeing and coming back with some odd-ball replies.

First thing, read the opening post on this thread. Second, yes I will have a TV to get rid of at some point but wanted to know how other members here got rid of there stuff. Seems paying for it is becoming the most common way these days.

Erie County (or is it the Town of Amherst?) is having a "drop off" day May 19th. I believe it is from 9am-12pm You need to wait in line for your turn to unload and I've heard it can take quite awhile. Also and more importantly it is a Saturday in TURKEY season. The Town of Amherst has had collections at their site on North Forest for years until a few years ago. Then they had an agreement with a joint in Tonawanda to take them. That deal ceased and now they don't have anywhere for a resident to drop off electronics, at all! Last year I paid $5 each to dispose of 4 tv's from my FIL's trailer/camper. I'm thinking of a new tv for our bedroom but will have to get rid of a big ass Sony. This isn't a big deal in life like CWD and xbow stuff but was just curious what others have for disposal. How come the places that sell the new electronics aren't forced to take the old goods like cans and bottles from beverage stores etc?? (used motor oil, tires etc too)

So you have a television to get rid of, how do you do it? My town does not except them anymore!!
