  1. Under the cover of darkness they sneak into neighborhoods, climb up onto roofs and perch right next to your warm chimneys, sniping the unsuspecting deer munching on your arborvitaes. Then, the deer that DON'T sneak off wounded are drug out by illegal immigrants, gutted and tossed in the meat wagon. After the nights shoot is over, they take them to the city dump and pull the dump bed lever...........
  2. Seems like we're getting a rash of these posts lately. I'd like to figure a way to jump into these "get rich quick" programs. Maybe it's as simple as me giving my email address and you guys just send me money? I'm just not real good with their goofy broken lingo, if'n you know what I mean.
  3. I've always wanted to do a winter camp out, IIRC I started a thread on that a few years ago here. Still haven't been......maybe this winter?
  4.  Now I have to go to bed with THAT on my mind?
  5. Where did they get it if you know? Great idea................
  6. Will you shut up for once? Stick that grunt call I'm giving you in your mouth and pipe down until Thursday morning......
  7. It would be mind boggling. You'd lay awake at night thinking of what you'd buy and how many of them. The inundation of friends, family, media, lawyers, tax and investment professionals, real estate sales people etc etc Then you'd have charities, churches andnon-profits to deal with! Then there'd be the women.....................................
  8. What's your solution? It's got to be safe, effective and no cost to the community. Fire away....................
  9. I could see this really ruining some lives for winner (s) and families. The amount of money and how to invest/protect and spend could be absolutely overwhelming. No kidding.
  10. Sure, I can't disagree with that but whats your friends and families safety worth.
  11. Some of you guys are pretty thick.................this stuff has been going on for at least 20 and maybe 25 years here in WNY. Only the BEST of equipment; suppressed rifles, night vision, bait, paid shooters etc. I don't know the ratio of hit & killed vs hit & lost but I'd bet dollars to donuts they don't loose many. What is killed is utilized well; IIRC the Buck & Doe Shop in Amherst handles lots of those deer. Some people in need of a deer or two have been known to have that need filled. I've seen with my own eyes (and helped process) the expertly field dressed (with a bag of ice in the chest cavity!) deer that have come out of these handoff's. And as far as archers doing the job; get real. How many deer do you really think the bow hunters are going to get? Who's going to give the permission (and except liability) and how's that dead doe (oh it better NOT have horns!!) in the neighbors yard going to fly? Lordy lordy wait until the pregnant doe's fetus jump out on Mrs Smith's lawn. UGGH! Unfortunately these municipalities have waited too long to implement a plan for archers to assist, they need to get the numbers down right now and sharpshooters can do that, tonight while you're all sleeping. It'd be nice to THEN allow archers to keep things under control but that hasn't happened around here and might not happen for you, just Johnny Law get to do the job.........oh and some local farmers of course.
  12. Good heavens, no big buck will ever slow my drive down. You may not believe it but the size of the rack is far from the top of the list for me. Honestly a perfect shot is the pinnacle for me, especially with the bow. I LOVE a perfect arrow.......... If I NEVER killed another "good" (in the eyes of the hunter of course) buck, it wouldn't mean beans to me. I'm tickled to kill any mature buck. Depending on how early it is in archery season, I'm happy to pass a 2.5 yo buck, not necessarily to shoot something better but JUST to extend my time in the woods, during the rut with a chance at a rut crazed buck. After about the 7-8th of November, my standards slip fast. As far as I'm concerned, my best buck IS on the wall. WGAF though? I promise, I don't.
  13. Common sense is pretty rare these days. What's your story, Missy?
  14. Might scare off a few new folks with that signature line........................
  15. I can't help much, for the last 15 year all I've shot were Easton ACC and Gold Tips. The GT's are the ones I've used for the past 3 years and they have been great. Seems like plenty of good options for you.
  16. It's a nice way to recognize a buck for surviving the harsh winters, dedicated hunters, motor vehicles. Record books should really NOT have the hunters name listed; just the score, picture, date and area but then who'd give a darn?
  17. No, it does not qualify for Pope & Young but does for New York State Big Buck Club. Oh, and it's number one in my book.
  18. You guys are unreal! Looks like the other dude is sporting a Bud?
  19. Shortly after I killed my archery buck I took the lower jaw to the DEC in Buffalo to have it aged. The general consensus of the 4 people (1 biologist, 1 ENCON officer and two assistants to the biologist) was that it was a 4.5 year old buck, not 6.5 like my taxidermist thought. Tonight I went and had it officially measured for P&Y/NYS Big Buck Club. He grossed 132 1/8th and netted 122 0/8..... Here's a link to the buck... http://huntingny.com/forums/topic/30060-saturdays-buck-rough-age-score/
  20. Pick one and it's yours, 2012_taco. (you can drive over and pick one out) Then Biz gets next choice, if he wants one. The other two go I'd give to a nice young boy or girl that has a need for one.
  21. Or she caught the old codger sniffing around.......who knows?? I bet if the dump diver went back and looked a little closer he may find the dudes shotgun, vest, high end shells. He musta' had a heck of a "box" call. OK, I better go to bed before I get in trouble here.........................
  22. Ohhhhhh so much to look forward to!
