I won't be getting any praises from the DEC on cat or dog kills any time soon..........................

Eggs Benedict or eggs Florentine will knock your socks off..................................Oh, need some sweets? Chocolate chip pancakes to die for. Dinners there were always OK, but the salad bar was very good. The Naples Hotel has a good burger at the bar....... May as well stop in at Sutton's too.......see if anything has changed in the last 50 years. I do love the place, have dropped cash just about every time I've been there!

Skip B & R's.........Redwood for breakfast & Middletown for a barley sandwich at lunch. We don't need no stinkin' feesh to have a good time!

Stocking? What about the runners from the lakes? April first will be a real joke for many reasons.

I don't know about the public assistance thing but I think others are afraid to say what they do or have done for some reason. Some of the most vocal guys are kind of silent on this although I can see they have certainly followed the thread.............. I wonder what they could be afraid of?

I'm truly amazed at what some here have done. Cool.............

Maybe you missed the implication that it wasn't directed at you.

Beware those that squak the most. They'd be the ones I'd worry the most about.

RIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!!!

Nice but sad pics wooly. Unfortunately I think this is going to be commonplace in the coming month....... Mother Nature's way.

WTH does that have to do with the job topic? I'm 95% RH in life but shoot long guns LH and I used to bat both RH & LH in baseball.

You Can Own Steve Rinella's ( of Meat Eater Fame ) Rifle
Lawdwaz replied to Mr VJP's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Considering it was used for TWO years on a TV show $5000 is really something. I'm glad the money goes to a good cause and the buyer can use it as a tax deduction because he'll never see a ROI. -
Man that's a lot of gigs!

Those tracks near the 90 in Cheektowaga, just south of Walden? I see them there all the time, even today. Cruising in & out between all the rail cars. Some DANDY gobblers in the past years!

I've only killed three with guns; two with a 50cal T/C ML and one with the 300WSM. The former two are hanging on the wall 8' from me right now. Ain't anybody EVER going to see the four holes in those two dogs. (one shot each, in & out) The later one was given to a trapper who skinned and sold the hide. Did it bring a premium price, nope. Who cares? If/when you do kill a fox or coyote what are you going to do with it? If you have it stuffed, your taxi-dude can make it look just fine I bet. I wouldn't sweat the holes guys........................

I went this afternoon with my wife. It has been a number of years since I've gone to it and today it was just a last minute decision to go. Ran into a few friends, saw some nice boats, campers and wheelers. A friend works for Elite and had me shoot their newest bow. I said "NFW.......I ain't shooting it 'cause I don't wanna buy a new one!" I shot it. Amazing......... Didn't buy it, if the wife wasn't with me I might have though! Talked to a couple outfitters; one fishing and one hunting. No deposits were placed. I just couldn't book anything without great references from people I trust, BTDT. It was actually a very good time, maybe because it has been a few years? Anybody else go yet or going Sunday?

WTS: Ducks/Decoys/Sporting Life Books
Lawdwaz replied to clayshooter25's topic in Non Hunting Items For Sale and Trade
I'll take "The Sporting Life" for $17 shipped, I already have one copy but would like another. Doesn't that artist on page 116 look like the guy on the right? He is one of my best buddies and hunting partners. -
In my late teens and early 20's I was an automotive mechanic then at 23 I bought a franchised business that I owned for 30 years and sold this past October. Right now I'm fielding offers on on a new occupation. (fielding? gimme a break............ )

A good friends father passed last week and today is a memorial brunch. Some of the folks around here might remember Doug Reed as the 30+ year owner of the Orvis Shop in Williamsville. I've know his four boys for going on 40 years now, a heck of a good family. Doug was a champion trap shooter for many years, big & small game hunter, avid trout & salmon fisherman, art collector, bird & fish carver and all around great outdoors guy. He is at peace now and will be missed greatly by many.

Fancy Custom Built Rifle to Pass On
Lawdwaz replied to dbHunterNY's topic in Guns and Rifles and Discussions
Thanks for the reference, I'll read that thread from the start when I get the time. I don't recall seeing it but the name "Osa Johnson" sure rings a bell. After glancing at some of the posts on the first page then some on the last pages (and yours too Dan), I don't think I've ever seen such glowing comments and agreement among the people there. Maybe I saw an article in Sporting Classics? That could be it.............................. -
Hi Matt......welcome to the show. You've probably been lurking for a bit? If so you know the drill, we need pics man. Fast.......................... How's the hunting in NJ? Fish at all?
