Dom, always remember all the good times with your sister. Your memories will get you through the hard times to come. May your sister rest in peace for eternity.................

I sold one last year to a member here for bait. I don't recall who he was off hand but he was from Rochester I believe. Hang a good camera up in the air and catch the dirty rotten scoundrel red handed.

There is a show on the Sportsmans Channel (395 Dish) right now about bee beekeeping! "Out Da Bayou"

15 hives or 15 bear destroyed? Sometimes when I would go home from my uncles place in Naples I would travel up and over the hills into Springwater then head up to the north west on Rt 15 and then turning to the west and going around the south end of Conesus Lake and ending up by the bus garage in Geneseo. I always enjoyed that one area after you climbed out of Springwater and were in a little valley with that beautiful hillside to your east. I don't know the names of towns and roads, the GPS took care of that stuff. Webster's Crossing-that was a neat area for some reason!

Excellent!

Veddy interesting........doe only for the first couple weeks wouldn't bother me. Doe only in the ML? I'll voice my opinion on that at the end of rifle season.

Doe only for the first two weeks?

I only post my mistakes to keep others safe. Always read ALL the regs...............closely. There were NO signs posted at the entrance or anywhere in the park when I hunted it. Now they could be, I'm not sure http://nysparks.com/parks/164/hunting.aspx I know guys that have hunted (and still do) the park for 40+ years for turkey and have never had an issue. Deer hunting is OK, but not in the late season. NO small game hunting at all..............
-
You know I hunted HH state park for years before finding out it was off limits. Talk about a MIND BLOWER. Every year we saw other guys hunting, talked to them and even compared birds. I figured the reason it wasn't hunted too hard was the fact it is straight up and down for the most part. Not sure if we ever even heard a gobbler on the flats.......ONLY on the steepest parts did we get into them. I think the statutes of limitations have passed on all infractions though. Talk about feeling like a fool..............

Sounds great growie. Bishop's potatoes I assume?

Bummer......... In lieu of tonight's dinner, pick up a half price corned beef tomorrow from Tops or Wegmans and cook it up for supper. It'll be just as good or better. Actually, I've never had CB at a restaurant. Only at home............... Good luck Red!

I'm pretty sure Dan is still down south visiting his sister but we can still wish him a good one! 65 huh? Damn............ I hope the sun is warm and the beer is cold, Happy Birthday Dan!

Only time will tell how area herds are doing. Hopefully those pine needles kept those deer fat & happy but I doubt it. Someplace in my area (and I just can't remember where it is now) shows a browse line that is unbelievable! IIRC it is in a neighborhood and WAS a hedge of arborvitaes.

Not sure WTH it is but I like it.

Hmm, I was thinking early to mid 70's but I sure don't know. By saying "Honeoye yard", you mean the area around Emil Mueller's home and Wild Rose Ranch? Regardless, I found an interesting piece on Muller, his life and donations: http://www.lifeinthefingerlakes.com/articles.php?view=article&id=92

-
This succotash didn't have creamed corn it.........THANK GOD.
-
Imagine my surprise when I opened a can of corn tonight and dumped it into a little pan and saw some WEIRD stuff going on! WTH is this stuff I thought....?? Grab the can and see that instead of buying plain old corn I got succotash! I don't think I've ever eaten it but I'm damn sure know I never bought it. It was fine, just not what I wanted. Sonny boy never batted an eye.

LOL.......I don't need luck with him, he lived in the City of Lockport! He's probably dead by now, killed by a neighbors poodle or something. I haven't been to that apartment complex (I was doing a job there and had done many over the years) since late October last year but every time I went you would see a handful to as many as a dozen hens and poults. There never seemed to be many adult gobblers, just jakes. This guy put on quite a show for me, as viewed and photographed from the bathroom window. It was fun watching them, as always. Actually last spring I got some video with my phone of a few gobblers going nuts, just 30 feet from Locust Street in the city. I posted these pics a few years ago of the first encounter...........

The local bait shops even smell better.............
-
I like Big Catch on Niagara St. I don't like Gander Mountain anywhere. There is another bait shop on Niagara St, just north of Big Catch I have heard good things about but have never been there. The bait shop at the Small Boat Harbor may be changing because some of the surrounding property is under new management. I think Niagara Outdoors in North Tonawanda has a very good reputation also. Luck to you..................
