You have an answer to everything.......... I'm not talking about any changes after multiple loadings I'm talking about changes someone might make during load work up. That is all.
-
Damn....what I mean is that once the HS is set, you don't monkey with it as far as "tuning" or accuracy. Its set, its set.......
-
Great reason to sell!

i half expected to see a mountain lion or black panther on the carcasses. The rest are nice, baldies are cool.

What's the deal on this project? (I think we could use a diversion right about now.............)

Hey, what happened, Outcome, good or bad?? -
Looks like there may just be statewide Antler Restricts.

What a shame..........your choice I know but you and your family are missing so much. Maybe you should re-visit venison if/when you & pops cork one next fall. There are so many great ways to fix it as you've seen on this site. For all we see daily on the news about all the shiiit put in all the domestic beef, chicken, fish etc why in the heck wouldn't you want to eat more venison?? You said your brother goes to UB, right? Have him hook up with me and I'll give you (and it breaks my heart to give it away, seriously) a few packages. Ground, back straps and sausage but you HAVE to pay attention to cooking instructions. You know I'm serious on this offer. PM me if you'd like............ Back to AR, OBR and other ABC BS..................................sorry for the derail. (again) -
I killed a buck with the bow a bunch of years ago that had half the rack flopping on his head due to a broken skull. He was acting perfectly normal..........can't imagine the pain he should have been in.

If you & pops had 100 acres an hour from home you might rethink that. Maybe you had a little camp there and your future wife loved going up........maybe you really got into hunting with a vertical bow and really enjoyed your rifles, maybe you really enjoyed venison and so did your wife. Maybe you wanted to shoot a couple doe and a couple bucks during the wonderfully long seasons here in NYS. . Maybe you shot a decent buck October 5th with your bow and then couldn't shoot another with the gun during the next almost 2.5 months of deer seasons. Sure, you can shoot some doe but you put so much time and effort into food plots, camera set ups, tree stands, scent proofing your gear, travel, taxes etc. that you'd really like to hunt for a big buck (or spiker) but you can't. You and pops have a very small core area to hunt and a bigger chunk of woods (or a wife that enjoyed the heck out of that dynamite free range venison!) could completely change your mind. Just a thought........ -
It probably has little to do with headspace but for me it helps take any doubt about the quality of the brass I'm using. Sometimes I question WTH is going on with things but with the Lapua brass I know the consistency is there and I don't have to worry about too much.
-
I posted the links in the OP as an "FYI thing" as headspace can be a difficult thing to grasp sometimes with all the changes to the case when firing then the different types of sizing. FL, partial FL and neck sizing are all very different and can have different consequences. The links talk about those changes and give measurements and suggestions. I have the Hornady headspace tools (and bullet comparator) and a good micrometer and have a pretty good handle on things after 24 years but am still learning! Lapua brass is one of best moves in the 223, 243, 7-08 (308 necked down) and now the 260 that I have made............necessary? Probably not but it sure is nice to work with.
-
I don't think setting headspace has anything to do with tuning a rifle. It's not like you try different setting with a you sizer die then shoot for groups, do you? No.....
-
At 9.3 ounces it should be a dream! What is he putting it on??
-
What 223 did you have it on, a CZ?
-
Thanks for your version.

I found a link on another site that I thought might be of interest here. Getting headspace right has always been kind of a chore for me but so far, so good-I still have all my fingers, toes AND eyes! This link is a great read on the subject, especially the link found in the link (in blue) called "headspace". The main link is referring to case size dimension changes and the second link (headspace) refers to the proper way to set up dies. The main link: http://riflemansjournal.blogspot.com/2010/06/basics-resizing-case-dimension-changes.html The headspace link: http://riflemansjournal.blogspot.com/2009/08/reloading-headspace.html

+1 on that!! Your time and effort are very much appreciated. All of the moderators here deserve a thanks so THANKS!! Congrats to Joe and adkbuck!! -
Welcome !! As far as the stands go, I guess first thing is where are you going to place them? If you know that, a few weeks before the season is plenty of time. I've hung stands in the morning and hunted them in the evening, no sweat. Do you hunt public land or private? Big woods, scrub brush or field edges? You fish too? What the heck is a "soileauj" anyway?

Better strap in extra tight!
-
Ya, I see that. some guys know quality stuff, they'll step in & snatch it up!

I've only owned one Zeiss scope and it had amazing optics and I loved the fine reticle it had. Should have never sold it...... Does that one have a side focus Dan? Nice that it comes with lens caps.............
-
LOL..... All funny business aside this is an awesome scope at a great price.

Bad news.......SWEDE hasn't been back since last night. Either he bailed on us early and won't EVER be back or, quite possibly he could have a life. I guess we'll have to wait and see....................

I'm on balanced billing with National Fuel. 1650 sqft house, gas dryer, gas hot water tank and 90% efficient furnace. My monthly bill is $111.00 4 occupants........... Not too shabby I'd say. The only thing is I really enjoy all aspects of wood. If I had access to handy wood and a wood stove/fireplace I'd be burning it. I do have a fireplace but I don't trust it also it surely wouldn't be very efficient for a heat source.
