  1. My wife and I almost went last night. A new bottle of gin brought that idea to a screeching halt...................I had a couple stiff G&T's and we decided to go to the local pizza joint instead. (she drove!) We go every few years to Canal Fest. Good local food is the draw for us as rides and stuff don't spin my crank......... I could tell you stories about those deer in North Tonawanda! Wow........and the turkeys that look ancient!
  2. What's your affiliation with the outfitter, you own it? This almost looks like an ad for your services, no?
  3. I'd guess the new Bass Pro in Rochester will be the "super store" rather than the F&S.
  4. That is a giant bear, GIANT! How did you get it to the wood pile for the hero shot? I don't know anything about your bow, never heard of them. When did you shoot it?
  5. Cool on the berries..... We hogged down two qts. of strawberries in 12 hours! Damn were they good!
  6. Half of this list is in my pockets!
  7. Lunch, drinks, snack, cigars (maybe) rain gear (maybe) extra clothing (maybe) extra socks (maybe) flashlight, camera, knife (one should already be on my person) and a hunk of rope. What'd I miss?
  8. This message is NOT going to be heart felt by zemmer18, LOL. Regardless, happy birthday zemmer18
  9. Looking good. Will you wrap the addition with the same vinyl siding?
  10. Good stuff! Where do you fish out of?
  11. I have been in Dan's company only a few times; once when we made a deal on a firearm prior to the NYSafe Act, a days fishing on Keuka for perch last summer in his boat and a breakfast with he and his better half last fall in Bath, NY. As much as I liked he and Sis I found the true test when he came in and sat on my davenport ( ) and our cat Nick jumped up and snuggled up right next to him. He also passed the introduction with flying colors with our Lab, Jenny! Pets can figure folks out pretty quick....................... He slept in the family room (after I had Obama take those damned Mexican kids back ) and he and Jenny bonded well. Nick got so excited just as we were getting ready to hit the road he puked his breakfast all the hell over the dining room rug and floor. Just a little delay to the schedule......... Good times!!
  12. Saturday started out slow but ended well, we ended up keeping our limit of ten. Dan ties his own jigs and they are tremendous fish catching little gems. Different sizes and colors do the trick. This is the second summer I've had the boat and nobody has out fished me until now, he handed me my lunch with those jigs. I used crabs and minnows mostly but did catch a few myself when I used his jigs. I'd guess he out fished me 4-1. Talk about schooled....................... Here he is in the fighting chair.............a series of action photos!! NOTE:The beer is only for nutrition as a barley sandwich or six keeps the hunger pains at bay. The type of beer was chosen to match the color scheme of the boat. The obligatory stringer shot (sorry for the dumpsters in the background!) before they went under the knife and into the Ziplock................................
  13. My Iphone tossed me a curve ball so I had to use photobucket and that takes some patience..... A damned nice 19" bass pushing or bettering 4lbs............... A HOG of a sheep head that fought like Mike Tyson.................. Reminiscing about a different time in his life.......... A look at the ship.....
  14. Dan (Pygmy) came up to fish for smallmouth bass with me on Friday. The original plan was to just fish Saturday morning on the river but the winds were so calm we decided to fish Lake Erie out of the Small Boat Harbor Friday afternoon. I haven't done much out there with my little boat but figured we'd give it a shot. We did pretty good (THANKS to Dan's hand tied jigs) on the bass and banged a few big sheep head too. We fished around the round house then took ride up the Buffalo River to show Dan the activity in the harbor and the Navy ships. He was in the Navy when the ships were made of wood........... It was nice to show the navy Veteran those old war horses. After we got back to the SBH and retrieved the boat we went to Doug's Dive and had a fish sandwich and a couple beers at the bar. The place was a mad house but the scenery made up for the chaos. I have a couple pics from Friday afternoon but they'll be loaded in another post since they are on my Iphone and its easier to post them from that. Hang in I'll do that now..................................... Then the Saturday report complete with a pic or two to follow.
  15. I don't recall if it was a one or two year trial period...........Lets just hope we all keep our noses clean and no errant shots are fired. Have I mentioned lately how great it is to be using the rifle in Ontario? Yee ha!!
  16. Disbursing? Damned Iphone auto correct. Should have been "disputing".
  17. You're not disbursing the fact that last year was the safest on record are you?
  18. Today was a wonderful day, weather wise. We have had some warm and very humid days that are tough on folks doing hard work and have/had busted a/c in their vans. HINT. It is fixed and I am happy.
  19. Never seen that lure before! Worth a try but do the still sell it? Maybe an eBay snag? Ever use an Erie Derry? (Not sure if I spelled that correct)
