  1. You are trying WAY to hard Elmo.
  2. So if you were using a 150gr .308 diameter bullet it'd be ok if another deer was behind your intended target?
  3. A quality bullet from any centerfire chambering in the right spot and head stamp won't matter. End of discussion.
  4. No fun, BTDT..............................lets debate the 6mm Remington instead.
  5. Yes it is worth it unless you don't plan on living more than 10 years.
  6. How nice, love birds!! How long have they been hitched?
  7. Sounds great........hopefully you get in for the hunting season too! (Edited out meaningless questions not relevant to the thread)
  8. Not light speed ahead of Gander Mountain? You have REALLY got to be kidding me. From the get go, Cabela's has said that this store would NOT be a mega store like what you are used to. Did you miss that in the news over the past year and a half? You been to Gander Mountain and tried to find a used gun? YOU CAN'T because the SUCK AZZ. They think guns belong behind the counter, 10' from your prying eyes. Oh, you want to handle a used OR new gun? Take a number....we'll be with you shortly. Go to the Gun Center for gun powder. I call BS on your eye witness account of the "dozen crossbows leave in the first hour" and "maybe one compound left in that time". You spent an hour watching the checkout? Have a good time at Bass ProShop..............................
  9. Seriously? Johnstown and you're looking for a discount card, flyer or an invitation? OK................ I bet if the new Cabela's was in your backyard you'd be singing a different tune.
  10. Sunday night was employees and family. Last night was contractors, local clubs, fireman, LEO. Wednesday is for Visa Card holders. Thursday is opening to the public. I went last night, it was jammed with people, too many for me. I wanted a new set of microtex duds and they didn't have any, at least the employee I flagged down couldn't find them. No problem.........I'll get them at some point. Maybe spent 90 minutes there, talked to some friends I haven't seen in a while. I'm happy to see them in town.
  11. You got a flag there? If not I know someone that can hook you up.................!!!!!
  12. Unrelated to the issue but where is your place?
  13. I've used pillow cases a few times on antelope and deer. You can get a couple qtrs. in a single case............an elk would need to be boned. Good bags have ties on them and can be hung easily from a tree to cool, pillow cases take a bit more effort but can be hung too.
  14. For a somewhat permanent setup I think you could do better than the bucket or bag. Don't look to me for the engineering plans though. Do you have electric?
  15. The bucket shower is fine but I think I'd still stick with the bag shower. The ease of transport, loose hose that you can point at the worst areas etc. work for me.
  16. I used a sun shower for years. I think we could get at least two shower out of 5gal. (guys, NOT girls ) I'm not sure where my latest one is, could be in the basement or at a friends.
  17. Talk to me Goose.................................
  18. I'll be there also. I have no shopping list although I'd like to score some lightweight Microtex pants, fish hooks, boat bumpers and guns. And some fudge.................
  19. Yup........it sure has been rainy, some places getting way more than other by a wide margin. And cool! That doesn't break my heart. My lawn has never looked this green this time of year!
  20. Hey Phil, did you shoot it yet? Thoughts?
  21. You guys are going to be disappointed in me............ahh never mind, it ain't good. Ok I'll tell ya: chocolate chip pancakes and fried bacon with Dinsdale Brand REAL HOMEMADE maple syrup. It was delicious!! Even though I was exhausted from a morning of fishing on the river then a small job in Lockport in the afternoon I still had (maybe a auger high??) enough energy to pull the wheels and hubs off the boat trailer. I needed to re-pack them but when I got them off and cleaned up I think I'll replace the bearings as they look like chicken chow mein......
  22. I need to start hunting around bird feeder and bird baths.........................................................
