Yea Doc, I agree. I've had tons of deer stick their noses right up to the camera but never had one grab it with their teeth or move it in any way. The bottom access door of the camera was even off and lying on the ground. Bear yes. Rhino? No way.........grin.
-
I (not surprisingly) have NO idea what you are talking about but it must be good. Congrats!! Any pics of the event??
-
No worries on the derailment.............. What does your gun weigh? Sounds heavy but probably shoots lights out, I'd bet.
-
The rhino or bear? The bear was in Ontario County. (it WAS a bear, I'm pretty sure anyway!)
-
Nope. That'd be too easy. It's a Bear's ear. Gotta be.....................................

OK, I've had this one for a number of years and probably had it on posted here at he time. From the start I've said it was a bear. You see, the camera (SG550) bottom door was off it, the camera itself was turned sideways, the para cord that held it in place actually damaged the camera from the critter PULLING on the case with its teeth. Tooth marks on the camera are also evident but they are pretty close together indicating to me a small bear. This is the only picture that was usable from the card. The rest looked like some of growie's fuzzy ones....... So, is it a bear??

I have a 209 smokeless that I bought second hand and three of his center fire rifles. I'll spare you the dead deer pics............ Tell me about the White Thunderbolt.....

I looked at a Browning 1911-22 the other day. Very cool gun and all the reviews I've seen (from another web site) were excellent!

I had a local custom builder ask me if I had any connections for bulk propane purchase as he had been denied by his two suppliers. He has a new home going up and needs to heat a basement. NFG...............

I wonder how many George Foreman grills it would take to heat a house? Wow.......................................................

DIY field point target
Lawdwaz replied to MACHINIST's topic in DIY - Do It Yourself, tutorials and videos
I'm shooting in my basement also. An old Block target with four little pieces of tissue for aiming spots at 10' still counts............... Nice target MACHINIST! -
Good deal! What ammo will you feed it? Now you know they are going to approve rifle for Livingston County for sure since you bought a new shotgun!! Maybe you hunt the park??

Google and the internet are great but for a beginner, I'd say a newbie is better off with something they can hold in their hands and read and reread. Unless the OP wants to print out all kinds of stuff from the web I'd say get the book. Caliber specific dies, is there any thing else? You sure as heck don't need a digital scale to reload......balance beam scales haven't blown anything or anybody yet. And their accuracy is absolutely fine, no less accurate than any digital scale. He sure doesn't need Lapua or Norma brass. The price and availability isn't so good now, standard Remington or Winchester is fine. Primer pocket uniformer and flash hole deburrer? They're not necessary for most reloaders. Just my not so humble opinion and observations.

Give Amazon a look on the book, less than $25 and worth it.
-
A great place to start is the Lyman 49th Addition Reloading handbook. I have the 48th addition and find myself referring to it often. I don't use much of the reloading data but use it as a reference. The complete reloading instruction is very good. Welcome to this site, take notes and keep your powder dry. Chime in as often as possible, BK.

As always, any big plans?? Happy Birthday!
