  1. Patience....................................................................... You need a shed sniffing Labrador for those horns!
  2. I built the deck about 16 years ago and never heard noises out of it like I have this year. When the temps really drop the boards crack like a gun shot. The other night I was letting the dog out for the last time around 11:00pm and we were standing there, and KABAM! It startled the dog and I pretty good. It has never cracked like it has this year. Probably 4-6 times a night. I assume it is the wood expanding and contracting as the sun heats it up during the day them the cold rocks it back a little? WAG? BTW, it doesn't get a ton of direct sunlight, just about half of it until maybe 10-11:00am.
  3. You ever put peanut butter on a Fig Newton? Ohhhh crap, wrong thread.................................................
  4. Good Lord no.......................................they look like the old Browning Serpentine. Like "tough nuts" hanging under my trailer ball or camo wraps on my truck...........Hell no I wouldn't want them OR try them for anything. How about something that is tried and true like a Slick Trick? Why travel the bumpy road?
  5. That green one is a Nissan that has the flip top and you sip right out of it, no cup at all. Handy dandy for coffee, hot cocoa, tea or bullion. The heat stays IN because you don't have to break the seal to open it. The other really important thing is it is only a 16oz capacity thermos. The brown one is also a 16oz. Most of the big thermos's are 32oz and too much for me anymore. If you only fill it half way it'll get cold faster, obviously. The camo one is a 32oz Nissan and doesn't get much face time anymore because it is too big. On opening days of NY and PA I take both 16oz jobbers and fill one with hot cocoa and the other with soup. Some of the others in the picture just seemed to show up one way or the other. 4/7 are Nissan and aren't for sale............
  6. I checked.......a different one for each day of the week. Not all are Nissan though.........
  7. Ha, I figured you'd chime in! Yes indeed, that is your humble (and grossly overweight) neighbor. Almost 40 years ago when that pic was taken I was considered by some to be a sex symbol. It bothered me for awhile then I slowly learned to except and embrace it. I found some more oldies, hang on.........................................................................................................
  8. Rummaging around looking for a certain other picture I found this gem. My first ringneck pheasant, circa 1975 or so. Browning A5 12 ga and a load of heavy 5's.............(don't doubt me on the ammo, it's etched in my memory!)
  9. Alphabet soup.....................................................
  10. Tim.....I "bumped" it to the top of the forum for anybody that doesn't do anymore than a "drive by" of the forums to see whats new. I thought maybe I could reel in a few fish for you and the NWTF................ Anybody win big that I would know??
  11. Hell, you'd have him shooting a 4x Leupold and 180gr Silvertips out of it!!!!!
  12. I bet they (Elite) were sweet....... As I've mentioned before, I picked up a 2012 Elite Answer at the tail end of deer season this past fall. It is shooting great! I have a stabilizer, detachable quiver and soft case (all marketed and branded with the Elite name) that I finagled with the deal. I put a QAD rest on it and the HHA sight from my Guardian on it. I should really be deadly with it for this fall. (better be..........) It'll certainly make for a fun summer getting it all fine tuned. Good luck with your purchase.
  13. Sounds good. What models did they have on hand??
  14. That'd be the best way to prepare them in my opinion. Breast them BUT also pull the legs/thighs. As far as the table, you can thank me later............... http://allrecipes.com/recipe/baked-chicken-reuben/ I've been using this recipe for many years with both chicken and pheasant. The wife of my buddy Wally (who is on his death bed as we speak) has a wonderful old recipe for a sauerbraten and dumplings that is just amazing. I have the recipe and my wife has tried to duplicate it but just isn't the same. Mmmmmm good memories.....
  15. Vortex glass? Do you hand load? Looks like a fine beanfield gun. She might come up short in the looks department but I bet it shines at the range and in the field.
  16. Welcome and a robust THANK YOU!
  17. Lota' back slapping going on in the "Good Ol Boy network".
  18. You know what.........I'm sitting here wondering whats for dinner (yea, hard to believe with me huh?) tonight. My wife is working so I'm up to bat. How about a PORK roast? Smashed 'taters, broccoli, maybe a nice white wine (Bud Light) along with a low cal dessert? Thanks for the idea, Dan. (I can see this thread has absolutely gone astray so WTH I thought I'd really stuff it in the can)
  19. I spent a couple hours with my friend Tom last weekend. He had a tree hung up that is slated for fire wood that he hoped the wind had brought down; it didn't. We hiked around, looking at the deer sign and the cherry trees for future fire wood. How about some leftover apples? The deer were hammering the areas under those few apple trees. It was a very cold day with a fresh skiff of snow.
  20. Yes, but not because she is your girlfriend. It is of course because she is a GIRL.
  21. As long as it's chocolate milk you'll get a "like". If not........................
  22. Oh come on, you MUST be kidding? That could be the prize winner........................
