If you're going to match pressure what's the point, cleaning? I sure hope not...................... Black powder substitutes are pretty darn clean burning and not nearly as dangerous to handle these days as the "old time" real black powder. That stuff was fun..............

The reason most want to go with smokeless these days is to have much increased pressure over black powder and to shoot their bullets without sabots. The energy and velocity they get is outstanding and shooting to 300-400 yards is very common. I have a friend who has built a couple for himself off of Model 70 s/a rifles. He has used both Kreiger and Brux barrels and you would NOT believe the accuracy!! He uses Parker 275BE slugs that are, oh what is the word for it......swagged down to fit real tight for super accuracy and no gas loss.

The dog is the BEST part! You really shouldn't hunt doves where I did without a dog, IMO. They blend in withe everything, especially dirt, cow dung etc. Honestly you could loose one on a mowed lawn....... We shoot them while dove hunting in PA. The doves we just shot while pass shooting around water, gravel/stone or the right field. Pigeons were just gravy...................

What wallet? Ugghhhh............ Only thing that has saved me lately is I won an Internet Based Big Buck Contest with a bunch of UBB buddies. BIG money.........GOOD bunch of guys too.

I'm probably the only guy to admit that I've never see 5 seconds of that show. That kind of stuff turns me off.......but of course to each his own. Wanna talk about Family Guy? grins

I don't add any pork to mine. Probably 30+ years ago I had a butcher add it to the ground and when HE did my deer. After a couple years of that I tried it without pork added and found it perfectly acceptable and more appealing. If you're going to use it as a burger on a roll it may be too dry but everything we use ground for is mixed with something else, such as spaghetti sauce, taco mix (rarely though) stuffed peppers, a meat pie recipe from Bisquick, chili etc............Sometimes we will make a meatloaf out of it but mix it 60/40 with ground beef and that works out just fine with all the other misc stuff that goes in the 'loaf mix like onions, peppers, raw egg, maybe oatmeal etc, As you can see, I grind my own and would rather not introduce any thing that is not under my control. (ya never know what folks might do to a pig........ )
